The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the Finance Department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This position is critical to the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Department. Specifically handling and overseeing the one-off cash journals and ensuring the integrity of cash handling and balancing, and assisting in tracking of taxes due to the unique tax status of the Hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Data entry and filing as needed.
- Income journal review and approval
- Assigned monthly journal entries
- Reconciliations
- Review and reconcile 3rd Party credit card transactions
- Contract group reconciliation and billing including posting of tax exemption for over 90 day stays.
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Facilitate guest and vendor request through methods of phone calls or email as needed.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
- Experience in a similar position, in the finance department of a Hotel;
- A degree or qualification in Finance and Accounting or Hospitality Management;
- Great problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills;
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows, strong Excel skill are preferred;
- Knowledge on hotel applications (Opera PMS, Micros Simphony POS, Onyx, Credit Card systems);
- Experience with procurement systems is preferred;
- Fluent in English
- Legally allowed to work in Spain/UE (we do not assist with Visa / permit applications).
