Support in engineering and test activities related to abusive and non-abusive battery tests like thermal propagation, short circuit, overcharge and cycling/ageing tests

• Definition of test specification together with customers
• Instrumentation of battery modules
• Programming of test cycles.
• Test result analysis.
• Test report generation.
• Analysis of test requirements for new projects.
• Adaptions of test facility to new regulations.
• Communication with customers

Reporting to the Product Manager, you will be involved in On-Board Emissions & Fuel Economy team of Powertrain Department for all kind of vehicle technologies: ICE, PHEV, HEV, EV and FCEV. The activities to be carried out will consist in complete vehicle testing and analysis in the field of on-board emissions and fuel & energy consumption, mainly in Heavy Duty vehicles (but also in Light Duty vehicles), as well as managing and reporting the related activities of those projects. Main activities:

• Test vehicles instrumentation (definition and requirements)
• Complete vehicle testing and analysis in the field of on-board emissions (PEMS) and fuel/energy consumption, either for Light-Duty and Heavy-Duty vehicle applications
• Managing and reporting the related activities of those projects
• Test equipment control and managerial

Responsibilities:

• Involved in projects related to fuel & energy consumption measurements and their improvements in heavy-duty vehicles mainly, but also might be involved in Real Driving Emissions for LDV.
• Involved in projects for fuel/energy consumption as well as exhaust emissions (PEMS) measurements and fuel consumption improvement in heavy-duty vehicles
• Test and data logging equipment configuration, test supervision, test validation, data analysis and reporting.
• Test protocol definitions and detection of potential improvements.
• Master plan project definition and exploding to sub-tasks and milestones.
• Test equipment control and checking according to quality standards, internal and external
• Test equipment requirements definition ensuring suitability for tests
• Daily communications with involved technicians in the team to plan and monitor daily tasks
• Daily/weekly scheduling of tasks. Follow-up and reporting project status to customer and team leader / project manager.
• Contact with other partners (internal/external) of the project related to results and technical topics.
• Quality improvements and automation of data post-processing
• Project Management.
• Preparation of the quotation for the customers (technical and cost definition of new projects).
• Presentations (commercials and projects) to the customers.

Profile:

Requirements:

• Experience in vehicle testing, specially fuel & energy consumption and emissions
• Knowledge of heavy duty vehicles (HDV) in PWT field
• Experience in project management as well customer services
• Client orientation
• Skills on Office pack and macros Excel.
• Flexible schedule
• Willing to travel abroad for testing and commercial visits
• Self-motivated, proactive, and good team player role.

Added value:

• Experience on engine dyno testing
• Experience in LDV testing for Real Driving Emissions (RDE)
• Experience in HDV testing for SORT, VTP and HDV testing Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM).
• Knowledge of RDE and WLTP regulations
• Technical knowledge of HDV related engines and powertrains
• Experience in automotive mechanics / CFGS Automoció
• Operating measuring instruments and fitting external instrumentation to vehicle/engine
• INCA and Diadem
• Fuel / energy meters (HIOKI; AVL; Emerson…)
• Experience in project management as well customer services
• Expertise in whole vehicle testing specially for heavy duty vehicles (HDV) in PWT field, mainly fuel/energy consumption, and emissions
• Knowledge of Hydrogen, hybrid or electric powertrain technologies

Education:

• University Degree in Mechanic, Electronics or similar.

Languages:

• Spanish and English fluent
