Hourly Rate: $23-$25/hour
Shift: Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Summary:
The Fabrication Supervisor for the Santa Fe Springs Fabrication Shop supervises assigned personnel and the day to day operations within the fabrication shop.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervises and trains assigned personnel (including temporary associates) to achieve the daily product receiving, storage, material handling, fabrication, shipping and delivery requirements;
- Monitors and directs workflow process in the fab shop to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time;
- Sets up, understands, troubleshoots, and trains others in the safe use of specialized equipment including band saws, grinders, drill press, iron-workers with custom punches, riveting machine, etc.
- Occasionally operates various types of fabrication machinery and tools including band saws, grinders, drill press, iron-workers with custom punches, riveting machine, etc.
- Writes Eclipse orders for the fabrication department, including material transfers, customer ship tickets, purchase orders, etc.;
- Ensures maintenance of a clean and safe work environment including participation on the safety committee, as well as safety compliance from all assigned employees;
- Responsible for quality control of all orders from the fab shop;
- Tracks and accomplishes the necessary maintenance of assigned equipment and vehicles.
- Responsible for understanding and teaching safe and efficient techniques for all shop equipment e.g. band saws, drill presses, iron-workers and grinders;
- Serves as a backup in the day-to-day team’s responsibilities;
- Demonstrates good character and acts as a good role model to ensure that the department provides courteous and valuable service to customers and coworkers;
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eclipse software experience required;
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills;
- Ability to interact with employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Good organizational skills;
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and resourcefulness;
- Ability to operate fabrication machinery and tools listed above in duties and responsibilities;
- Ability to operate a forklift;
- Ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities simultaneously;
- Understanding of safe warehouse practices.
- The employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel a computer mouse or other computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects; stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
- May be required to move or traverse considerable distances in the facility during the course of a workday;
- Must have the physical abilities to perform essential warehouse tasks;
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs to a height of 3-4 feet and load product into trucks;
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time;
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to pull or put away product from shelving and racking.
