As our Operations Director for Europe, you will take full ownership of leading manufacturing operations across the region, including both existing sites and those acquired or reorganized. As the primary point of contact for operations in the region, your focus will be to ensure the successful delivery of performance. This includes a strong emphasis on quality, sustainability, cost, safety, and legal compliance.

You will have an outstanding opportunity to influence key business decisions, reporting directly to our Senior Vice President, Head of Operations Marine, Energy & Infrastructure. This role is based in our Polinyà, Spain office, where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive decision-making, while working daily with colleagues from worldwide.

• Builds and develops the vision for manufacturing, ensuring medium-term plans are in place to guarantee capacity with the right performance.
• Ensures that our licenses to operate and legal permits in the area align with local legislation and Hempel policies and procedures.
• Drives continuous improvement aligned with our strategies while supporting and owning other global or regional initiatives.
• Be an active member of the sales and operations planning, assuring the plants are well-resourced to meet the demand and the targetsfrom short to medium term.
• Leads a diverse and multicultural team of skilled members.
• Participates in local boards or business unit management teams as required or indicated.
  
  

• Academic degree in chemical engineering, production engineering, or an equivalent academic background in operations.
• Extensive experience in factory management or other relevant operations areas.
• Strong leadership skills and stakeholders’ management
• Proven experience in QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) and ideally in QMS, EMS and/or OHSAS Management Systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of ERP applications.
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English and Spanish, Portuguese would be appreciate.
