Takii Europe is responsible for breeding and developing new leafy, root and fruit vegetable varieties, and flower varieties. The subsidiary Takii Spain is responsible for carrying out the relevant breeding programs for fruit vegetables and developing leafy and root vegetables.

DutiesAs an Assistant Phytopathologist, you will support the Phytopathologist in conducting and optimizing tests for the development of new/resistant breeding lines or breeding tools using a variety of techniques. You prepare the tests and assess, compare and interpret the observations of the tests. You record these findings in the system. You will also participate in practice-based research to optimize protocols and formulate recommendations. You will also perform diagnostics on affected plant material. Finally, Pathology buildings (both laboratory and greenhouse) are your domain and you ensure that everything is neatly maintained.

Job RequirementsWe are looking for an enthusiastic technician with demonstrable training in laboratory sciences or microbiology-related studies. Providing support is in your nature: you recognize what is needed before it is asked of you. You are flexible and can switch well between tasks. You also enjoy working independently in a small team. You have an eye for detail, perseverance and extreme accuracy. It is not difficult for you to work at a high level of concentration for long periods of time and interpreting figures does not give any problems. Finally, you have a good command of the Spanish and English languages.
