Purpose of the role:
As a Frontend Engineer on the Drive team, you will play a crucial role in developing Proton Drive. We expect you to be customer-centric, continuously learning, passionate about technology and usability. You are an adept at turning technical complexities into seamless user experiences. Effective teamwork, collaboration with Product, Design, APIs, and your team, and data-driven decision-making are essential aspects of this role.
What you will do:
- Develop new features: Developing, deploying and supporting high-quality user experiences within Proton Drive, including feature development and implementation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with backend, product owners, designers, QA, and other engineers to take initiatives from ideation to completion.
- Code review and optimization: Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance optimization.
- Testing: Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies, including unit tests and integration tests, to ensure the reliability of core libraries.
- Management: Break down large initiatives into smaller milestones to gather stakeholder feedback quickly, allowing us to course-correct immediately.
- Deep understanding of JavaScript methodologies and design patterns
- Proficiency with TypeScript or any typed language
- Experience with React or 2+ similar frameworks, developing performant and reusable components
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, such as SOLID, Design Patterns, CI/CD
- A product mindset with a focus on offering the best user experiences
- Experience working in a distributed team
- Awareness of common security issues in client-side development, such as those in the OWASP top ten, and how to mitigate them
- Familiarity with UX, accessibility, internationalization, and localization concerns and solutions
- Experience with Grafana or other monitoring platforms
- Experience with breaking down product requirements into architecture design and implementation
- Experience with NodeJS
- High-level understanding of cryptography concepts such as key exchange and the difference between symmetric and asymmetric encryption
- Office First: Collaboration is easier and more effective in person, which is why we have offices in Geneva, Zurich, Prague, Barcelona, Paris, London, Vilnius, Skopje, and Taipei. You can also enjoy working from home up to 30% of the time, while enjoying great company during our three core days in the office. Depending on the role, fully remote positions may also be available.

Perfil
Buscamos un/a React Frontend Developer con especial interés en maquetación y UI, para incorporarse a nuestro equipo de Producción Digital, trabajando para una marca internacional líder en un entorno colaborativo y con proyectos reales en producción.

Responsabilidades
- Desarrollo de interfaces en React, con foco en maquetación y detalle visual.
- Construcción de componentes reutilizables usando Styled Components o soluciones similares.
- Traducción de diseños (Figma u otros) a código frontend de calidad.
- Trabajo con sistemas de diseño y librerías de componentes.
- Integración del frontend con APIs existentes.
- Mantenimiento y evolución de aplicaciones en producción.
- Colaboración estrecha con UX/UI, frontend senior y producto.

About The Role
Location: Barcelona, Spain
- You’ll be part of the Engineering team and adding value to our applications, allowing people to reach the best experiences in their cities.
- You’ll be working with the latest technologies on the frontend, surrounded by highly qualified professionals like you on a highly scalable and performance way.
- Design easy-to-use, performant, and exciting web experiences serving thousands of users around the world.
- You'll work as part of an agile, cross functional team with other full stack, mobile, backend and frontend engineers, together with the product designers.
- Understand the technical trade offs of different solutions, implement them and make them scalable.
- Have a product-oriented mindset and work towards best outcomes for the product.
- Collaborate with the larger team via regular design critiques and working sessions
During your first month at Fever (Onboarding period):
You’ll join a structured onboarding program designed to help you ramp up smoothly. During this period, you will:
- Meet your buddy and team, and get to know Fever’s culture and ways of working.
- Set up your local environment and become familiar with our Python-based stack, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
- Learn about our architecture and observability tools while contributing small improvements and fixes.
- Have your first code running in production and a clear understanding of our delivery flow and processes.
- By the end of the onboarding, you’ll be ready to join your long-term squad and start contributing to larger initiatives.
You’ll be confidently collaborating and delivering at full speed. You will:
- Design and implement end-to-end features within your squad.
- Participate in architectural discussions and propose improvements across our services and APIs.
- Work with event-driven systems and focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and other Engineering teams to enhance our platform and developer experience.
You’ll be fully established as a key contributor in your team. You will:
- Take ownership of core components and help evolve their architecture.
- Lead by example through code reviews, design sessions, and mentoring.
- Contribute to best practices in areas like scalability, observability, and system design.

- Deep knowledge on Angular (>= 10) , SSR, HTML5, CSS3+, SASS, Typescript and Javascript.

- You comply with defined coding standards, creating quality code. You can't think of a code without tests
