The Group of Numerical Methods in Engineering (GMNI) is developing a line of research related to the application of computational mechanics techniques and numerical simulations for the study of green hydrogen geological storage systems.
For the development of this line of research and the achievement of its corresponding objectives, it is necessary to hire a Research Support Senior Technician with the tasks described below:The person hired will collaborate in the performance of the following activities and tasks that fall within the objectives of the research line and the project:Study of models for the optimization of the exploitation process of the installation (number and frequency of loading and unloading cycles, maximum and minimum recommended operating pressures, maximum net storage capacity, among other parameters), in order to extend the useful life of the caverns.Validation and analysis of the accuracy and robustness of the methodologies through test cases.Additional InformationEligibility criteria:Evaluation criteria:For the award of the contract, the academic grades will be valued at 60%, where two aspects will be taken into account: 1) the overall grade of the degree, 2) the grades of the subjects in the field of differential equations, numerical methods, HPC computer programming, and mechanics of structures.
The candidate's experience and knowledge in the tasks to be performed in the project will be valued at 15%, in particular in numerical methods for linear and nonlinear structural analysis and their programming.
Other academic merits, such as awards and collaboration scholarships, will be valued at 15%.
The personal interviews of those candidates who exceed 65 points in the previous sections will be valued with 10%.
The minimum score for candidates to be placed on the waiting list is 75 points.The above evaluation criteria will be weighted in accordance with the following scorecard:Academic record (maximum 60 points): A maximum of 40 points will be considered based on the average grade of the degrees' records.
Preference will be given to candidates with degrees in the field of Civil Engineering.
In the case of applications with other engineering degrees (or recognized equivalent master's degrees), a weighting factor of 50% will be applied to the average grade.
In the case of candidates with degrees different from the above, the weighting factor will be 10%.
The points awarded will be weighted according to the average grade of the undergraduate transcript, so that 20 are obtained for having completed the degree and the remaining 20 points will be awarded progressively according to the average grade of the transcript.
The grade obtained for the bachelor's degree may be increased (up to a maximum of 40 points) with a master's degree or equivalent in the same field.
For having taken an official master's degree, 5 points may be awarded and another 5 points proportionally depending on the grade obtained in it.

Each year of experience will be valued with a maximum of 1 point.Programming: Programming knowledge in languages such as Fortran, C, C++ or Matlab and use of computer software as ABAQUS or COMSOL will be valued (1 point each one, maximum 5 points).Other academic merits (maximum 15 points).
Awards or competitive collaboration scholarships obtained in a competitive call will be valued 5 points each.

The selection committee will not evaluate CVs submitted in a format other than the specified.
The merits for each evaluation criterion, the tasks performed in each job position, and the duration of the contract should be specified in the application.
The merits scoring is based on activities carried out on a full-time basis.
If not, the percentage of time dedicated to the tasks associated with the evaluation criterion must be provided.
For the evaluation of professional experience, the merit claimed must be duly substantiated in accordance with the Selection Committee criteria, either through the contract, a task certification, or, where applicable, the public call through which the position was accessed.
In all cases, it must explicitly indicate that the tasks referred to in the merit are the primary activities carried out by the applicant during the period.
For example, professional experience in project writing will not be considered if the candidate was employed as a researcher or project manager, unless the contract or public call specifies that project writing was the main task of the position.
The duration of each contract must be verified through an official certificate.
For the evaluation of language proficiency, an official certificate proving the required level is needed.
Language courses that lead to an official title will not be considered unless the official certificate is provided.
For a single language, only the highest certified level will be considered.
For French or German, only one language will be considered, with a maximum of 5 points when the certified level is B2 or higher.
Merits not detailed in each of the evaluation criteria will not be considered.
A digital copy of the supporting documentation for all claimed merits must be submitted with the application.
No merit or activity will be evaluated if it is not documented or certified. Merits not justified in the initial application will not be considered and cannot be amended.
A maximum of 6 candidates with the highest merit scores will be invited to a personal interview, provided their score is equal to or higher than 30 points.
The interview will assess both the candidate's abilities, aptitudes, and profile, as well as their knowledge of the specific tasks to be carried out.
Part of the interview may be conducted in English.
To be considered for the position or placed on the waiting list, candidates must achieve a minimum total score of 50 points and 15 points in the interview.
If no candidate reaches this score, the position will remain vacant.
A prioritized reserve list will be created to fill potential vacancies or withdrawals, based on the scores obtained by those who have met the minimum score.
The selected candidate must submit the supporting documentation for all claimed merits within 5 days of the resolution.
Failure to provide full or accurate merit documentation will result in the candidate's disqualification, and their position will be filled by the next candidate on the reserve list.
