VHIR offers a Cardiologist in cardiovascular imaging position within the Cardiovascular Diseases Research Group.
We are seeking a cardiologist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role will be to annotate and validate echocardiograms, as well as to provide clinical expertise within the Cardiac Imaging Unit.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Identification and inclusion of patients in the group’s various research projects.
- Collection of clinical and demographic data, and coordination of the performance of different medical tests.
- Contribution to clinical aspects of bioengineering and data science work, including post-processing and analysis of cardiac imaging studies.
- Close collaboration with technical researchers within the cardiovascular imaging unit.
Required:
- Medical Degree.
- Specialist qualification in cardiology.
- Additional training in echocardiography.
- Fluency in Catalan or Spanish (professional level).
- Fluency in English
Required:
- Experience with advanced echocardiographic imaging techniques.
- Proficiency in the use of digital tools and software for medical imaging.
- Research experience in cardiology or related fields.
- Experience in clinical echocardiography.
- Experience presenting at conferences
- Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
- Starting date: As soon as possible.
- Gross annual salary: 28.157,25€
- Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities

We are looking for a motivated candidate to incorporate as JUNIOR RESEARCHER IN BATTERY RECYCLING:
Position Overview:
As a Researcher in our energy storage group, you will be involved in hands-on research and development focused on battery recycling activities (Li recovery, direct recycling). You will also have the chance to contribute to European and local industrial projects, collaborating with various international and national partners to drive innovation in energy storage solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a cutting-edge field, working closely with experienced scientists on a variety of projects.
Key responsibilities:
· Perform cell preparation, including slurry mixing, electrode preparation, and cell assembly (coin cells, electrochemical flow cell).
· Perform electrochemical Li recovery from different sources (used batteries, brines).
· Conduct electrochemical testing, such as cyclic voltammetry, EIS, galvanostatic charge-discharge, and related methods, in organic and aqueous electrolytes.
· Materials characterization, including SEM, XRD, and thermal analysis (e.g., DSC, TGA).
· Assist in the analysis of experimental data to optimize performances.
· Participate in European and local projects, contributing to the development and implementation of advanced energy storage technologies as well as their recycling.
Qualification:
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, or related fields.
· Strong fundamental knowledge in electrochemistry and materials science.
· Familiar with electrochemical setup and testing methods such as CV, EIS and galvanostatic charge/discharge.
· Previous hands-on experience in battery research, energy storage, battery recycling or related field is a plus
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Languages:
· Fluent level of Spanish or English, oral and written.
