The role in a nutshell
Are you passionate about leveraging data to make meaningful business improvements? As a Business Data Analyst within the Coupa Global Reporting & Governance team, you will be instrumental in enabling datadriven decision-making and fostering continuous improvement. Your goal? To turn data insights into actionable strategies that enhance contract compliance, boost supplier performance, and streamline operational efficiency. In this role, you will collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders, acting as a vital link between business needs and technical capabilities. Your responsibilities will include gathering and validating business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and ensuring user-friendly reporting solutions meet organizational goals. You will uphold best practices in data quality, work towards impactful reporting outcomes, and create a data-driven culture across our global Coupa landscape. With opportunities for growth in a stimulating and innovative environment, you will develop cost-saving initiatives, enhance business processes, and maintain compliance with audit requirements. More specifically, you will be expected to:
• Analyze trends and patterns in Power BI reports to identify areas for improvement, such as contract compliance and supplier performance;
• Monitor catalogue growth and drive initiatives to increase on-catalogue purchasing and reduce offcatalogue spend;
• Evaluate purchasing trends to enhance contract compliance and support cost-saving strategies;
• Track payment schedules to maximize early payment discounts and optimize cost efficiency;
• Implement initiatives to reduce cycle times for requisitions, invoice processing, and supplier onboarding;
• Advocate for electronic invoicing to improve accuracy and streamline processes;
• Gather, validate, and document business requirements for reporting projects;
• Support data standardization efforts to enhance reporting accuracy and consistency;
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure reporting solutions align with strategic goals;
• Develop training programs and user guides to empower end users in utilizing reports effectively
Do you have what it takes?
• Skilled at interpreting data and providing actionable business insights;
• Advanced skills in Power BI and Excel; SAP experience is beneficial.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills to engage with and collaborate efficiently across teams;
• High accuracy and a focus on maintaining data quality in reporting outputs;
• Quick to identify and address operational and technical issues;
• Significant experience in increasing efficiencies and optimizing workflows;
• Experience working across procurement, finance, or accounts payable functions;
• Ability to develop and deliver clear training materials for diverse user groups.
Language : As you will be part of a global team, you are expected to communicate fluently in English (verbal and written). Knowledge of other languages such as French, German, or Spanish is favorable but not mandatory.
Travel: Some occasional travelling will be required.
Location: This role will ideally be based at our Malaga office, but we could consider other suitable locations
