In This Role, You Will
- Developing various facets of data capture, data processing, storage, distribution and visualization
- Understanding and applying AWS standard methodologies and products (compute, storage, databases)
- Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Develop scalable and highly-performant distributed systems with everything this entails (availability, monitoring, resiliency)
- Communicating and documenting solutions and design decisions
- Proposing new ways of doing things and contribute to the system architecture
- Be part of an agile team that is continuously learning and improving.
- Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g. Scala, Python or Java etc)
- Experience delivering and supporting highly available and scalable solutions with large transaction volume
- Experience in working with Relational Databases and proven knowledge of SQL
- Experience of using cloud services (e.g. AWS)
- A passion for learning, especially in the areas of data, technology, service design patterns and system architecture
- Be self-motivated with drive and good organizational skills to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- A friendly and collaborative team who are keen to share their knowledge and constantly learn new things
- A bias for action
- You will get the opportunity to work on a cloud-based data lake backed by the full suite technologies and including Kafka, Spark, Scala, Airflow, Hive, Kinesis, EMR and Docker.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

Requisitos mínimos
Buscamos a una persona autónoma, con capacidad de interlocución y atención al detalle, que aporte:
- Al menos 5 años de experiencia profesional como Data Engineer.
- Mínimo 3 años de experiencia específica con Databricks, desarrollando procesos ETL/ELT eficientes y escalables.
- Experiencia real en desarrollo e integración con Unity Catalog.
- Mantenimiento avanzado de tablas Delta Lake (optimización, particionado, patrones merge/append y dimensiones lentamente cambiantes - SCD2).
- Sólido dominio de Python, PySpark, SparkSQL y T-SQL.
- Experiencia en orquestación de flujos con Azure Data Factory.
- Experiencia integrando fuentes de datos de distintos sistemas y formatos (REST API, bases de datos relacionales, ficheros JSON, Parquet, Delta, etc.).
- Conocimientos de infraestructura y servicios cloud en Microsoft Azure.
- Certificación obligatoria Databricks (Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate o Professional).

About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Platform / Data Engineer to join our ML Platform team and help build and scale the data infrastructure that powers our AI products in dentistry. Our platform supports the full AI development lifecycle, from raw data ingestion and annotation workflows to dataset versioning and model training pipelines. You will work closely with Machine Learning Researchers (MLRs), MLOps engineers, and product teams to ensure our data infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and easy to use.
A key focus of the role is improving our Data Lakehouse (DLH) and dataset management workflows, including dataset versioning (DVC) and improving how data is prepared, extracted, and consumed across research and production systems.
What You Will Work On
You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of our data platform.
Typical Responsibilities Include
Data platform ownership
- Design and evolve the Data Lakehouse (DLH) architecture used across our ML teams.
- Improve the reliability and structure of data ingestion, extraction, and transformation pipelines.
- Ensure datasets used for training and evaluation are consistent, reproducible, and well documented.
- Improve workflows for dataset versioning and reproducibility using tools such as DVC.
- Design solutions for managing multiple versions of datasets and annotations across experiments and models.
- Improve the ability for researchers to retrieve the correct dataset versions reliably.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines in Python.
- Improve metadata management, dataset validation, and data quality monitoring.
- Optimize data workflows across AWS-based infrastructure.
- Work closely with ML researchers and ML engineers to understand their data needs.
- Support research workflows with reliable and efficient data access patterns.
- Help translate research requirements into robust platform capabilities.
- Implement practices for data quality, reproducibility, and traceability across the ML lifecycle.

What The Role Involves
- Design, build, and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for high-volume, fast-changing datasets.

- Develop and maintain semantic layers and curated data marts to enable analytical self-service across the company.
