Production Systems Engineer
Languages: Spanish and English
Travel: Up to 30% of working time (primarily to North Africa)
Summary
We are looking for a Production Systems Engineer to drive the implementation, optimization, and supervision of production and quality systems for high-pressure thermoplastic piping used in the transport of gas, oil, water, hydrogen, and related derivatives.
This role is critical to ensuring the technical excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance of our operations across multiple international sites. Success in this position means leading effective cross-border collaboration, ensuring high product standards, and contributing to innovative R&D projects, especially in the hydrogen and clean energy space.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and optimization of production equipment
- Implement and maintain quality, health & safety (HSE), and environmental systems
- Lead the process for obtaining and renewing ISO and API certifications
- Manage and support local and international quality control teams
- Ensure compliance with API standards through rigorous testing protocols
- Supervise production technicians and guide best practices across facilities
- Monitor raw material sourcing, supplier performance, and inventory quality
- Oversee the recycling systems to ensure environmental compliance
- Establish and manage regular reporting processes across teams
- Act as the central point of coordination between production units in different countries
- Lead R&D initiatives for products manufactured in North Africa
- Collaborate on R&D and testing projects based in Tarragona
- Deliver biweekly activity and performance reports
- Dedicate 35% of work time to R&D projects focused on hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, CO₂ capture, and other sustainable solutions
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical education
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Willingness to travel (approx. 30% of the time)
- Good communication and coordination skills across multicultural environments
- Experience with R&D projects in clean energy or industrial innovation as well as experience in industrial production, especially in piping or thermoplastics is a strong plus
