Open Call – Predoctoral Contract at the University of Vigo

The University of Vigo announces a 4-year predoctoral contract linked to the MICINN Knowledge Generation Project **** PID***********NB-I00 "Genomic and transcriptomic determinants of adaptation in cancer evolution" (Principal Investigator: David Posada).

Thesis Project Description

The thesis project will focus on studying the evolution of gene expression along cell lineages in colorectal cancer samples.

The primary objective is to evaluate the adaptive value underlying changes in gene expression, with a particular focus on phenotypic plasticity, and to understand how these factorscontribute to the dynamics of tumor progression.

The study will utilize simultaneous DNA/RNA sequencing data from individual cells and single-cell RNA sequencing, based on 10X Genomics, for characterizing the tumor microenvironment.

Main Contract Features

Duration: 4 years.

Total funding: €134,200 (includes social costs and PhD tuition fees).

Workplace: Phylogenomics Group, Center for Research in Nanomaterials and Biomedicine (CINBIO).

Main Requirements

Enrollment (or eligibility to enroll) in a full-time doctoral program at the University of Vigo for the ******* academic year.

Not having previously received other predoctoral training grants from the State Plan or previous national plans.

Not possessing a doctoral degree.
