Buscamos un/a INGENIERO/A de CIENCIA DEL DATO para incorporarse a nuestra área de Data. Formarás parte de un equipo ubicado en Barcelona. Trabajarás en la creación de soluciones avanzadas basadas en analítica, modelos estadísticos y aprendizaje automático para diferentes unidades de negocio.

¿Cuáles serán tus funciones principales?

• Recolectar grandes volúmenes de datos no estructurados y estructurados desde archivos, bases de datos, APIs, etc., y transformarlos en un formato más comprensible.

• Realizar análisis exploratorios para entender la naturaleza y distribución de los datos, identificar patrones, correlaciones y visualizarlos de manera efectiva.

• Desarrollar y aplicar modelos predictivos, de optimización y estadísticos para resolver problemas de negocio específicos, como regresión, clasificación, clustering, series temporales, etc.

• Aplicar técnicas de estadística y Machine Learning para desarrollar modelos predictivos y generar insights accionables para las diferentes áreas de negocio.

• Evaluar y validar la precisión y el rendimiento de dichos modelos utilizando técnicas como la validación cruzada, conjuntos de prueba y métricas de desempeño adecuadas.

• Colaborar con el equipo de MLOps para integrar los modelos desarrollados en un entorno de producción.

• Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con equipos interdisciplinarios como ingenieros de datos, analistas, expertos en el dominio y equipos de negocio para comprender los requisitos y objetivos del proyecto.

• Participar en la toma y definición de requisitos, identificando las necesidades de negocio y traduciendo problemas de negocio en casos de uso y soluciones analíticas.

• Comunicar de manera efectiva los análisis, resultados de los modelos e implicaciones a diferentes audiencias, incluyendo stakeholders no técnicos, a través de informes, presentaciones y visualizaciones comprensibles. El objetivo será facilitar la toma de decisiones basada en datos.

• Monitorizar el rendimiento de los modelos en producción, realizar mantenimientos periódicos y actualizarlos cuando sea necesario para garantizar su vigencia y precisión.

• Mantenerse actualizado en técnicas analíticas como machine learning, optimización, deep learning y análisis de texto.

Para ello, ¿qué vas a necesitar?

• Education: Grado, Máster o Doctorado en Informática, Economía, ADE, Ciencia de Datos o un campo relacionado.

• Más de 3 años de experiencia en Data Science, con experiencia en almacenamiento de datos, procesos ETL e integración de datos. Se valorará especialmente experiencia trabajando de forma autónoma en proyectos de estadística y Machine Learning.

• Conocimiento avanzado de SQL: dominio en la escritura y optimización de consultas.

• Experiencia en desarrollo en entornos AWS, Azure o Google Cloud.

• Conocimiento profundo del modelado de datos, gobernanza y mejores prácticas de calidad.

• Capacidad para manipular y preprocesar grandes volúmenes de datos utilizando herramientas como SQL, Pandas o Polars.

• Experiencia en scripts de Python y familiaridad con bibliotecas y herramientas de Python.

• Experiencia práctica en técnicas de Machine Learning y estadística aplicada, incluyendo modelos predictivos, regresión, clasificación, clustering y/o series temporales.

• Se valorará tener conocimientos estadísticos: pruebas de hipótesis, análisis de regresión, distribuciones de probabilidad, etc.

• Se valorará dominio de librerías de visualización como Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot2, etc., para crear visualizaciones claras e informativas (Tableau es un plus).

• Experiencia en toma de requisitos, interlocución con stakeholders y comunicación de resultados analíticos a perfiles de negocio.

• Se valorará positivamente experiencia en áreas de negocio como Comercial, Ventas, Controlling u otras funciones donde el análisis de datos tenga impacto directo en la toma de decisiones.

Context And Mission

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center’ Data Visualization and Analytics group is looking for a data scientist specialized in AI.

The group has 5 research lines -Industrial Data Science, Urban Data Science, Interactive Data Visualization, Data Storytelling, and Arts+Science Driven Innovation. The goal of this position is to work as data scientist across all of the lines, as most projects include a combination of skills. In particular, to apply AI and advanced statistical methods to problems in advanced manufacturing and factory operation, digital services, energy efficiency, urban planning, digital democracy, as well as science dissemination.

The candidate will join the currently ongoing projects and work with the teams from all the related lines of research. The candidate will also work on procuring funding for future projects.

The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red.es to participate in the talent attraction and retention programs within Investment 4 of Component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.

Development of the recruitment process

The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:

• Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. What You'll Do:

We are looking for a senior, strategic, and hands-on Data Scientist to lead the data and methodological backbone of Commerce Analytics and Commerce Insights at Criteo. This person will own the analytical rigor behind the work: building and improving pipelines, understanding source tables and data dependencies, ensuring reliable execution, and defining or validating the methodologies behind key metrics and outputs.

• Methodologically rigorous, with strong judgment on how to define and validate metrics
• Structured and practical: you can move from ambiguous business questions to executable analytical solutions
• Comfortable collaborating with client-facing and non-technical stakeholders, even if this is not the center of gravity of the role
• Strategic enough to improve the system, not just execute within it
• Significant experience in data science, analytics engineering, analytical product work, or a similar role in a data-rich environment
• Strong understanding of experimentation, metrics, methodology design, and analytical QA
