Your Responsibilities

Diagnostic Team Organization: Lead and inspire the local diagnostic team ensuring efficient operations. Evaluate, validate, and oversee the Dry Lab analyses, including genomic assays based on WES, WGS, Sanger, PCR, among others.

Define and track KPIs and SLAs, using data-driven insights to enhance service performance.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams, including physicians and bioinformaticians, to integrate genetic findings into practical healthcare applications for the development of new improvements and tests.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards related to human research and data privacy. Adhere to regulations issued by local authorities and participate in the laboratory accreditation process. Ensure the proper functioning and validation of quality controls for genetic analyses under CAP, CLIA, and ISO accreditations.

Publications: Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present results at conferences and scientific meetings.

Your profile

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Background:

Master’s degree and/or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, genomics, and genetic data analysis.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience: +10 years on genetic analysis and genetic diagnosis.
  • Technical knowledge:
    • Experience managing genetic databases and bioinformatic tools -e.g., ClinVar, dbSNP, HGMD, Varsome, GnomAD…)
    • Deep knowledge of genetic variant interpretation, especially in the field of genetic diseases/inherited disorders.
    • Experience in both genetic diagnosis and screening approaches.
  • Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Additional skills:
Leadership capacities to own and drive the vision for future business directions.

Teamwork capacities to implement best practices in the department.

High communicative skills to inspire the team.
