Context And Mission

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center’ Data Visualization and Analytics group is looking for a data scientist specialized in AI.

The group has 5 research lines -Industrial Data Science, Urban Data Science, Interactive Data Visualization, Data Storytelling, and Arts+Science Driven Innovation. The goal of this position is to work as data scientist across all of the lines, as most projects include a combination of skills. In particular, to apply AI and advanced statistical methods to problems in advanced manufacturing and factory operation, digital services, energy efficiency, urban planning, digital democracy, as well as science dissemination.

The candidate will join the currently ongoing projects and work with the teams from all the related lines of research. The candidate will also work on procuring funding for future projects.

The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red.es to participate in the talent attraction and retention programs within Investment 4 of Component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.

Key Duties

Conditions

• The position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department
• We offer a full-time contract (35h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance

Development of the recruitment process

The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:

• Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
• Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
  
  

The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.

In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.

The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.

We are looking for a senior, strategic, and hands-on Data Scientist to lead the data and methodological backbone of Commerce Analytics and Commerce Insights at Criteo. What you’ll be doing:

• Own our Marketing Mix Model end to end: build it out, grow it from today's US model to a global, hierarchical setup, and turn it into an automated platform that steers budget allocation. Full ownership, not a support role.
• Turn MMM outputs into decisions: partner with performance marketing and finance to fold results into the budget process and guide teams on what they mean for strategy.
• Steer the testing roadmap that feeds the MMM: use its signals to pick which channels and questions to test, then design and run incrementality tests (geo experiments and other causal inference methods) to measure incremental ROI.
• Design a unified measurement framework that ties MMM, attribution, and incrementality together; MMM for big budget calls, incrementality-adjusted attribution for channel splits.
• Drive cross-company initiatives that extend causal inference beyond marketing into our experimentation platform, and into forecasting and risk work with Finance and Product.
• Build and scale a full-stack self-service platform that puts budget planning and incrementality testing directly in stakeholders' hands, working closely with engineers and marketing.
• Work with Data Engineering to build scalable pipelines and evolve our ETL as the modeling stack grows (e.g. adopting Databricks).

• Hands-on MMM experience: you know that getting it right means testing multiple approaches before converging on a robust, defensible model.

¿Cuáles serán tus responsabilidades en este rol?

Esta no es una oferta puntual ni para cubrir un proyecto concreto.

Buscamos un compañero de viaje que quiera crecer con nosotros y sumar al largo plazo en el equipo de Cívica.

El rol a incorporar es el de Data Scientist, con las siguientes funciones:

🚀 Desarrollar y orquestar Agentes de IA

Diseñar flujos con frameworks de agentes, protocolo A2A y servidores MCP con herramientas a medida.

🔎 Implementar y evaluar pipelines de RAG

Construir el ciclo completo de recuperación de información, optimizado para entornos de producción.

⚙️ Gestionar la infraestructura LLMOps

Automatizar pruebas en CI/CD, controlar versiones de prompts e implementar observabilidad con OpenTelemetry.

🔐 Garantizar Seguridad y FinOps

Configurar AI Gateways en entornos multi-cloud (Azure/AWS), aplicar políticas DLP y de seguridad y optimizar los costes de tokens por agente.

¿Qué ocurrirá en tu primera semana?

Tu incorporación empieza en nuestra oficina de Granada, pero lo más importante no será el lugar: será cómo te vas a sentir.

Desde el primer minuto, todo estará preparado para ti.

Uno de nosotros te recibirá, te enseñará la oficina y te presentará al equipo. A partir de ahí, solo tendrás que centrarte en disfrutar y empezar a vivir la experiencia Cívica.

Tendrás una primera reunión con el equipo de People Care, donde te contarán todo lo que necesitas saber: tu contrato, beneficios, dinámicas internas, eventos y cómo cuidamos de quienes trabajan aquí.

Te recibirá también el equipo de Sistemas, que te entregará todas las herramientas para que puedas empezar a trabajar sin preocupaciones.

Conocerás a tu equipo de proyecto, y tendrás una bienvenida por parte de Producción, para entender cómo encajas en el engranaje de la compañía.

Pero eso no es todo. Nuestro CEO y CTO se reunirán contigo para contarte en primera persona hacia dónde vamos, en qué creemos y por qué lo hacemos así. Porque no se trata solo de trabajar, se trata de compartir una visión.
