WHAT YOU DO:

• In customer workshops, you analyze the challenges of our customers and transfer these into qualified concepts for our cross-functional team
• In customer projects, you advise on specific questions regarding software and cloud architecture for the development of scalable applications, e.g. serverless architectures
• As an impulse generator and active team member, you enrich existing topics and tasks and help to adopt new perspectives
• You bring structure to complex contexts and processes in our projects and involve the entire team in the process
• Your solutions take modern automation, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code into account
• You prepare your work results in a comprehensible, structured and reliable manner and apply target group-oriented storytelling techniques in your communication

WHO YOU ARE:

• Your very good knowledge of the cloud of AWS/Azure/Google and ideally their IoT solutions convince us
• You are an expert in at least one programming language and you are well versed in software patterns in design & conception
• You have a strong desire to apply methodological knowledge such as domain-driven design
• You have experience with modeling tools for software architectures like UML and ERD / ERM
• Your good knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, ...) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, ...) is synergetically complemented by basic knowledge of ElasticSearch
• You face problems in a responsible and solution-oriented way, you show initiative and are a fair team player
• Good English skills complete your profile, German is a plus

We are looking for a Frontend Software Architect to be part of our Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team.

Position Snapshot:

- Location: Nespresso Headquarters, Barcelona. Spain.
- Type of Contract: Permanent.

The role:

As a Frontend Software Architect, you will be driving the frontend software powering the Nespresso Digital Commerce web solutions. You will work in a direct-to-customer context with significant volumes and traffic and a very rich feature offering, being part a of large development organization with direct impact to the online business.

As a central part of the software engineering community, you will bring deep technical expertise and knowledge to the product team, being part of the technical reference team for the eCommerce domain. You will transform business needs into seamless user interfaces, guiding the software development teams with your expertise in web frontend best practices.

As a Frontend Software Architect, you will provide the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of eCommerce web solutions for all Nespresso Digital Commerce products. You will provide guidance and technical leadership to the cross-functional delivery teams. You will own the web frontend architecture specification and ensure compliance with security and other internal standards.

In This Role, You Will:

- Drive the vision for the new frontend software architecture during the ongoing re-architecture process, to ensure the experience that both Nespresso web users and developers deserves.
- Work closely with eCommerce solution architects to achieve a smooth transition to an eCommerce solution based on commercetools platform with a React/Next.js frontend.
- Provide the product team with technical expertise, advising on best technology solutions, translating the business vision into technical vision.
- Contribute to the availability and evolution of the Continuous Integration solution (including quality and Security checks) in collaboration with the teams running the service.
- Assist others in resolving complex technical problems and investigating the root cause of problems and recommend smart (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely) solutions.
- Participate in peer reviews of deliverables and carry out formal and informal reviews of technical designs, standards, documentation and/or implementations.
- Liaise closely with suppliers and vendors, for example where third-party work or packages involve significant functional, technical, process, data or integration decisions.

What We´re Looking For:

- Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 8 years of experience in the relevant area of expertise. Ideal experience of 3-5 years as a developer, 3-5 years as a software architect.
- Proficient in HTML, CSS (SASS/SCSS), and JavaScript, with a commitment to clean, accessible code.
- Strong expertise in React/Next.js, with the ability to create reusable and efficient components.
- Experience with testing tools such as Jest/Vitest.
- Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence.
- Effectively communicate in English at different levels in the organization.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

- Skills in Figma and Storybook for design and development synchronization.
- Have a deep understanding of agile methods and processes
- Have experiences working in a global environment and with virtual teams
- Experience of successfully leading technical evaluations.
