ROLE SUMMARY:
King's Infant School is is seeking to appoint a KS1 teacher to join us on a temporary basis (maternity cover) in August 2025.
The role of the KS1 Teacher is to work under the guidance of the Key Stage Leader to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and to help raise standards of achievement for all pupils. To enable young children to make good progress in their learning by building upon the skills they have and to assist all pupils to develop emotional security, self-belief and mature social skills. The class teacher will have outstanding knowledge and understanding of either the English, Welsh or Scottish curriculums and be able to recognise the unique child and plan for their development using both the indoor and outdoor environment. To encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school, and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support pupils, staff and curriculum.
- To plan and assess for pupils.
- Maintain exceptional relationships with other staff, pupils and families.
- To contribute professionally to the whole school development.
- To plan and teach phonics programme using Read Write Inc.
- Bachelor Degree or PGCE/PGDE (essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status UK (essential)
- The ability to work as part of an education group
- Understanding of high quality teaching
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- Recent evidence of relevant CPD
