Mutares SE & Co. KGaA is a Pan-European private equity holding specialized in complex situations and corporate carve-outs. These are usually under-performing and/or non-core assets that have significant operational improvement potential and are in need of a new partner.

Mutares primarily invests in companies that have an established business model and operate in the Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Food & Retail verticals. Platform investments usually range between EUR 50m and EUR 750m in terms of sales.

Mutares actively supports and develops its portfolio companies with its own investment and expert teams as well as through strategic add-on acquisitions. The objective is to achieve a significant increase in value with a focus on sustainable growth of the portfolio company.

Due to high deal activity, we are looking to add an investment intern (m/f/d) to our Madrid team to support our investment activities.

The ideal candidate will have completed a Master’s or business school qualification with a financial focus.

They must also have completed one or more internships previously in a related field such as M&A, private equity, consulting, TAS, or within a global investment bank.

The duration internship shall be for a period of up to 6 months.

Your Tasks

To support the existing investment team, the candidate will help with the following tasks:

Analysis of Teasers and Investment Memorandums to identify suitable targets.

• Business development and deal sourcing
• Support in Financial Modelling
• Due Diligence support
• Support in the preparation of investment committee-related documentation
• Other support in deal execution as required/ needed

Your Profile

• Top-tier Master’s degree or Business School with finance specialisation
• Several previous internships including experience gained in Investment Banking/M&A strongly preferred
• Excellent proficiency in Spanish and English. Additional languages preferred
• Good team player, hands-on, independent thinker, ambitious
• Self-confident and professional appearance
