Are you interested in content development, curation and delivery of trainings, primarily at doctoral level as well as contributing to the development of new proposals and initiatives?
If yes, this Research Fellow position, based at RMIT Europe - Barcelona, Spain, may be for you!
To Be Successful In This Position, You Will
- Assume responsibility for the development and curation of Training Materials primarily directed at PhD-level researchers.
- Support the delivery of trainings, i.e. masterclasses, summer schools, and organize industry engagement activities, including C-level roundtables.
- Contribute to the development of new projects and initiatives.
- Be familiar with Ed-Tech, training platforms, and disruptive technologies.
- Have worked with immersive experiential learning and gamification.
- Participate in project level meetings, timely updates around the training materials tasks, administrative duties, and University processes as deemed appropriate by the CI.
- Willingness to undertake a secondment to RMIT University, for an extended period of time.
- Willingness to undertake European-wide travel as required for varying periods of time.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary by the CI.
- Holder of a PhD in a relevant discipline (Innovation, management, economics, social sciences, etc)
- High level proficiency in English
- Working rights in Spain

The Fellow will play a critical role in advancing DREAM+PLAN’s scientific outputs including publishing high-impact coauthored publications, curating and developing scientific training materials for PhD candidates, in particular for the annual doctoral schools.
The Fellow will also contribute to the development of new proposals and initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate within an international, multidisciplinary, and multi-sectoral Consortium to address key societal challenges in line with the EU Missions and The European Green Deal.
A novel training program will guide PhD candidates through their journey via three doctoral schools. An online repository of training materials will ensure a lasting legacy and impact beyond the Project.

To Be Successful In This Position, You Will Have
- Demonstrated research and teaching experience in Innovation, Technology Management, Sustainability Studies or a relevant discipline or multi-disciplinary area.
- Proven track record of research excellence, demonstrated through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong experience in interdisciplinary research and knowledge of climate-positive solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to write effectively for academic and general audiences.
- Evidence of strong methodological expertise.
- Strong visualisation and communication skills.
- Experience in curating PhD-level training activities.
- Contribute to the development of new proposals and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders spanning science, public sector, and industry.
- Ability to work under strict and tight deadlines, both proactively with the DREAM+PLAN Project Team and Partners, as well as independently as needed.
- Experience in collaborating with non-academic partners (e.g. NGOs, policymakers, multinationals, etc).
- Familiarity with EU Missions, the European Green Deal, and regional sustainability strategies.
- Experience in the curation of training materials for PhD-level training purposes.

You will work closely with members of the Engagement team to find and support opportunities to market programs, improve and optimise program messaging, positioning and audience engagement. You will collaborate with the Education team to support a continuous focus on driving an amazing learner experience and outcomes across all aspects of RMIT Europe program delivery.
This leadership position also works closely with RMIT colleagues and teams in Australia including RMIT Online.
To Be Successful In This Position, You Will Have
- Extensive experience in the higher-education sector, preferably the private University landscape.
- More than 5 years as a program portfolio manager (or equivalent), with a proven track record in developing new programs, leading on program strategy and roadmaps that lead to measurable outcomes on revenue and profitability.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen in creating financial models and business cases.
- A passion for driving growth and optimisation of a portfolio, through collaboration and influencing of other teams across engagement and partnerships.
- Experience managing multiple products within a portfolio and a proven history of managing and prioritising across a group of products.
- Entrepreneurial, willing to come on board to help build and shape a new offering for RMIT in Europe.
- Able to take risks and deal with uncertainty in a dynamic and international environment.
- A minimum of a Master qualification in a related field with relevant professional experience
