As a Junior Mechanical Engineer At Arup, You Will
- Participate in the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a range of building types, from commercial and residential to cultural and educational facilities.
- Preparation of calculations, reports, plans and technical specifications for a variety of national and international projects,
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other specialists to deliver integrated and sustainable building solutions.
- Oversee the specification and selection of mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with performance and sustainability criteria.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is Willing To Develop Their Career In The Mechanical Engineering Team At Arup In Madrid. Ideally, You’ll Bring
- Studies in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering in Industrial Technologies with a specialty in mechanics, Industrial Engineering .
- 0 to 3 years of experience.
- Having performed similar functions to those described will be valued, especially in the design of mechanical installation .
- Ideally with on-site experience .
- Fluency in Spanish and English (C1 level).
- Previous knowledge in Revit, AutoCAD is valuable .
- Capacity for teamwork .

Responsabilidades
🎯 ¿Cuál será tu rol?
- Participar en el diseño y modelado 3D de piezas, conjuntos y mecanismos industriales.
- Elaborar planos de fabricación, montaje y documentación técnica asociada.
- Aplicar acotación funcional y tolerancias geométricas en los diseños.
- Seleccionar e integrar componentes comerciales como actuadores o elementos neumáticos.
- Colaborar con los equipos de automatización, compras y producción para asegurar coherencia técnica.
- Dar soporte en revisiones, cálculos básicos y mejora de documentación de producto.
- Grado en Ingeniería Mecánica o formación técnica equivalente.
- Experiencia previa de al menos 2-3 años en diseño de maquinaria o bienes de equipo.
- Manejo de herramientas CAD 3D (SolidWorks, Inventor o similares).
- Conocimientos básicos en:
- Resistencia de materiales.
- Tecnologías de fabricación: mecanizado, soldadura, plegado...
- Acotación 2D y normativas de fabricación.
- Neumática y elementos normalizados.
- Ganas de aprender y crecer dentro de un equipo técnico sólido.
- Buena comunicación y actitud colaborativa.

Summary - Basic Function Of The Role
We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role focuses on custom and special product development in mechanics and hydraulics, from initial requirements to final delivery. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary innovation team to drive engineering projects and ensure high-quality solutions.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with engineering teams to develop, coordinate, and execute projects in line with company standards.
- Oversee the quotation and order process, including design, calculations, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation updates, including as-built revisions, RPS, and instruction sheets.
- Request supplier quotes for cost estimation before handover to the supply chain.
- Develop technical solutions based on customer requirements, liaising with sales and customers as needed.
- Support production, testing, and compliance procedures, assisting sales with on-site tests.
- Conduct regular project meetings to track progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Design and evaluate testing procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate on New Product Development (NPD) initiatives.
- Promote and enforce health, safety, security, environmental, and quality (HSSEQ) standards.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in cylinders, bolt tensioners, mechanical systems, sealing processes, tribology, or high-pressure hydraulic applications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, FEA (Ansys, Mechanical, Catia), CREO & CREO SIMULATE, or SolidWorks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative technical solutions.
- Fluent in English (written & spoken).
