Job Description:

Inside of TADY´s CoC (Aircraft Systems Centre of Competence), Highly Integrated Systems (HIS) is a newly created organization (Domain) with specific responsibilities in Multisystem Architectures, Airborne Computing Platforms, IMA and Modular Integration, HW/SW Certification and Infrastructure and Digitalization, acting as Multisystem and IMA Design Office and providing transversal support and services to the whole System´s CoC. This organization has been created to evolve and prepare the CoC´s organization to the new challenges and paradigms in the Systems design, to attend current and future customer needs and to foster reuse, common strategies alignment, economy of scale, multisystem architectures and digitalization. The aim is to deliver cross-functional strategies, artefacts and support for the design, development and certification of Air Power systems by centralizing competencies, expertise and activities to act as Multisystem Design Office.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Software Architect T&A shall be responsible for the Design, implement, and maintain a robust Python-based automation framework.

The responsibilities of the Software Architect for the Tools & Automation Team will be the following:
- Automation Framework Development:
Design, implement, and maintain a robust Python-based automation framework used across multiple programs and environments. This includes defining architecture patterns, reusable components, libraries, and ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across all automation projects.
- End-to-End Automation Lifecycle:
Lead the full development lifecycle of automation solutions - from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and release to the end customer.
- Software Design & Architecture:
Define and enforce software design principles, coding standards, and architectural patterns (e.g., modular, hexagonal, and event-driven architectures).
- Programming & Scripting:
Develop high-quality, production-grade code primarily in Python, complemented by strong Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell) skills for system-level automation.
- Containerization & CI/CD Integration:
Design and maintain Docker-based build environments and pipelines. Integrate automations into Jenkins CI/CD workflows, ensuring reliable build, test, and deployment processes.
- Code Quality & Testing:
Promote automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and regression testing. Implement continuous integration strategies to ensure code quality and early detection of issues.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with internal customers and other DevOps teams to translate operational needs into software solutions.
- Documentation & Standards:
Ensure that all developed tools and automations are properly documented - including architectural decisions, API contracts, and deployment procedures - maintaining traceability and compliance with engineering standards.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance the automation ecosystem.

Required Skills
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, with relevant experience in software architecture and DevOps environments.
- 3+ years of experience in software development and architecture, ideally in automation or tooling domains.
- Advanced level of Python programming, including design patterns, object-oriented programming, and modular architectures.
- Strong experience with Shell scripting (Bash or PowerShell) for automation and integration tasks.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized development environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins).
- Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, API design, and versioning strategies.
- Strong focus on code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work autonomously while aligning with team objectives and long-term vision.
- English at negotiation level - German and/or French is a plus.

Additional valuable skills:
- Experience in microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) or orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python backend frameworks.
- Experience with Git-based workflows, code review processes, and semantic versioning.
- Knowledge of API integration (e.g., REST APIs, SOAP APIs, RPC, etc.).
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and telemetry tools for automation health tracking.
- Exposure to domain-driven design (DDD) and hexagonal architecture principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, focused on delivering durable, scalable solutions.

Context And Mission

Within the Earth Sciences Department of Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), led by Prof Francisco Doblas-Reyes, the department is looking for a candidate to provide technical support to the Earth Sciences department in the areas of application management, data management, and other technologies.

The position provides information technology support services to staff and department members.

Key Duties

Maintain and further develop the IT services of the Department, including GitLab, Jenkins, OpenStack platforms and any other service application.

Regularly collect user requirements in terms of technical needs, and develop strategies to address them.

Update, deployment, maintenance and decommissioning of Department IT applications and software stack.

Contribute to the deployment of scientific software stack in new computing platforms (mainly HPC or cloud facilities).

Provide creative solutions to improve the quality of service, and to maintain the operationality of servers and workstations.

Keep track of these procedures and solutions and help to improve the user documentation by updating the department wiki and contributing to the regular newsletter.

Actively monitor service status and ensure high availability.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor in Computer Sciences or IT qualification or certification.

Essential Knowledge And Professional Experience

Familiarity with Linux server environment and deployment on servers and workstations.

Experience in advanced software management will be highly valued.

Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc).

Fluency in spoken and written English, while fluency in other European languages will also be valued.

Additional Knowledge And Professional Experience

Conditions

The position will be located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department.

Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources.

– 60 points.

A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.

The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.

In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process.

As a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer at Evinova, you will play a key role in strengthening our operational security posture by leading hands-on technical activities across detection engineering, incident response, and cloud security. You will work within the Cybersecurity Operations function to ensure continuous monitoring, visibility, and control across cloud, SaaS, and enterprise platforms.

The role focuses on the operation and optimization of our SIEM and SOAR platforms (Splunk Cloud Enterprise Security and Splunk SOAR), integrating critical data sources from AWS, Microsoft 365, and SaaS environments, and developing high-fidelity detections that enable proactive threat response. Key Responsibilities:

Security Monitoring and Detection Engineering

- Maintain and operate the organization´s SIEM and SOAR platforms (Splunk Enterprise Security and SOAR) to ensure continuous, reliable, and scalable security monitoring.

- Develop and manage log source integrations across cloud and SaaS environments including infrastructure, applications, identity providers, and endpoints.

- Collaborate with the external SOC on rule tuning, enrichment mapping, and validation of false-positive reduction efforts.

- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support SOC operations, threat hunting, and management visibility.

- Monitor and optimize SIEM ingestion performance, ensuring efficient parsing, filtering, and normalization of logs to control license consumption.

- Conduct periodic use-case reviews to ensure alignment with the evolving threat landscape, business priorities, and technology stack.

Incident Response and Operations Support

- Collaborate with the Security Operations, Incident Response, and Threat Intelligence teams to improve detection coverage and response playbooks.

- Provide tier-3 support during incident investigations, including forensic data extraction and SIEM correlation analysis.

- Participate in on-call escalation for critical incidents requiring Splunk or SOAR expertise.

- Support IT and Cloud teams during investigations involving phishing, account compromise, or insider risk events.

- Collaborate on technical implementations of security controls and alerting mechanisms within cloud and SaaS platforms integrated into the SIEM and SOAR environment.

Automation and Continuous Improvement

- Automate repetitive processes and data enrichment using scripting (Python, PowerShell) or integrations with SOAR and third-party APIs.

- Support automation of compliance evidence collection, aligning outputs with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 control families.

- Evaluate and recommend improvements to SIEM architecture, detection capabilities, and enrichment logic in coordination with the Director of Cybersecurity Operations.

- Contribute to the roadmap and maturity development of Evinova´s security monitoring and detection engineering functions.

- Support the development of operational runbooks, standard operating procedures, and integration documentation for SecOps processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor´s degree in Cybersecurity, Management / Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

- 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles.

- 2+ years of experience working with SIEM platforms (preferably Splunk ES and MS Sentinel).

- Familiarity with cybersecurity guidance, frameworks, and standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or CIS Controls.

- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and legal teams.

- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

- Strong understanding of log management, event correlation, and alerting principles.

- Proficiency in developing and tuning detection rules, dashboards, and reports.

- Knowledge of security operations, incident response, and threat detection workflows.

- Scripting ability in Python, PowerShell, or similar for automation and data enrichment.

- Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and its application in detection engineering.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

- Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience with SOAR platforms and automated playbook development.

- Hands-on familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.

- Experience with cloud security environments (AWS, Azure) and related log sources.

- Understanding of vulnerability management and exposure reduction processes.

- Prior experience in a global or distributed Security Operations environment

• Formación en Ingeniería Informática, Telecomunicaciones o similar.
• 3-5 años de experiencia en roles similares.
• Experiencia sólida en administración de Windows Server.
• Conocimientos de virtualización, redes, almacenamiento y backups.
• Experiencia o interés en Azure / Cloud.
• PowerShell para automatización.
• Experiencia con herramientas de monitorización.
• Inglés mínimo B2 (comunicación con Suiza y Rumanía).
• Experiencia en ciberseguridad en entornos Microsoft.
• Conocimientos en seguridad de red, especialmente Fortinet.
• Diseño de Disaster Recovery Plan.
