We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Director to oversee the daily operations of our sports resort. This role is critical in ensuring seamless coordination across all departments, driving operational excellence, and enhancing guest satisfaction. The Operations Director will be responsible for implementing strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency, control costs, and maintain high service standards while reporting directly to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all resort operations, including accommodation, food & beverage, sports, recreation, and guest services
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance guest experience, optimize efficiency, and ensure seamless cross-departmental collaboration
- Monitor resort performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and driving initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies
- Drive a guest-centric culture, ensuring high standards of service across all departments
- Analyze guest feedback, implement action plans, and continuously elevate service standards
- Work closely with the F&B, sports, wellness, and hospitality teams to ensure smooth daily operations and high levels of customer satisfaction
- Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising service quality
- Control operational expenses, focusing on cost reduction, resource optimization, and revenue growth
- Implement and monitor cost-control initiatives across departments, including procurement, inventory, and labor management
- Establish clear performance KPIs for department heads and ensure accountability for results
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve operational workflows
- Ensure proper maintenance of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to provide a seamless guest experience
- Oversee health & safety compliance, ensuring all operational areas adhere to industry and legal standards
- Act as the key liaison between the resort and the corporate leadership team, ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and finance teams to drive business growth and revenue generation
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including vendors, suppliers, and local authorities
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Operations Director, Resort Manager, or similar leadership role in a resort, hospitality, or leisure industry
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of hospitality industry regulations, health & safety compliance, and local legal requirements
- Fluent in English and Spanish; proficiency in additional languages such as German and/or Scandinavian language is highly valued
- Significant understanding of seasonal work, accepts flexibility in schedule and “walks the extra mile"
