Chief of Staff - supporting the COO

About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief of Staff to support our Chief Operating Officer (COO) in managing a diverse and critical portfolio across all aspects of our Operations, Transformation and Integration, IT Services, Cyber Security, and Banking Infrastructure. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the operational efficiency and strategic execution across these key functions.
The Chief of Staff will act as a key support function to the COO, driving initiatives, facilitating performance management, enhancing communication, and ensuring the effective execution of departmental priorities. This position requires strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills, along with a solid understanding of business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Performance & Objectives: Support the establishment and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) across relevant departments, ensuring a focus on delivery and results.
- Lead Key Initiatives & Projects: Manage and drive critical projects and initiatives on behalf of the COO, ensuring clear planning, timely execution, and effective communication of progress.
- Enhance Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and collaboration across various teams within the COO's remit to ensure alignment and efficient operations.
- Support Strategic Planning & Execution: Assist in the development and execution of departmental strategies and contribute to the achievement of overarching business goals.
- Organize & Facilitate Meetings & Events: Manage the planning and execution of key internal meetings, leadership sessions, and departmental events.
- Provide Analytical & Problem-Solving Support: Conduct analysis and contribute to the resolution of operational challenges, offering insights and potential solutions.
- Support COO Effectiveness: Assist the COO with planning, communication, and other tasks to optimize their time and impact.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience (ideally several years) in project management, management consulting, or a similar role with exposure to operational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, track progress, and drive results.
- Strong understanding of performance management principles and the use of metrics.
- Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
- Proficiency in standard business software (Google sheets and Looker a plus)
- Experience within the financial services or technology sectors is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Ebury´s strategic growth plan would not be possible without our Data team and we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team!
Our data mission is to develop and maintain Ebury´s Data Warehouse and serve it to the whole company, where Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts work collaboratively to:
- Build ETLs and data pipelines to serve data in our platform
- Provide clean, transformed data ready for analysis and used by our BI tool
- Develop department and project specific data models and serve these to teams across the company to drive decision making
- Automate end solutions so we can all spend time on high-value analysis rather than running data extracts

Responsibilities:
- Be mentored by one of our outstanding performance team member along a 30/60/90 plan designed only for you
- Participate in data modelling reviews and discussions to validate the model´s accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business objectives.
- Design, develop, deploy and maintain ELT/ETL data pipelines from a variety of data sources (transactional databases, REST APIs, file-based endpoints).
- Serve hands-on delivery of data models using solid software engineering practices (eg. version control, testing, CI/CD)
- Manage overall pipeline orchestration using Airflow (hosted in Cloud Composer), as well as execution using GCP hosted services such as Container Registry, Artifact Registry, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GKE.
- Work on reducing technical debt by addressing code that is outdated, inefficient, or no longer aligned with best practices or business needs.
- Collaborate with team members to reinforce best practices across the platform, encouraging a shared commitment to quality.
- Help to implement data governance policies, including data quality standards, data access control, and data classification.
- Identify opportunities to optimise and refine existing processes.
About you:
- 5+ years of data/analytics engineering experience building, maintaining & optimising data pipelines & ETL processes on big data environments
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and Airflow
- Knowledge of software engineering practices in data (SDLC, RFC...)
- Stay informed about the latest developments and industry standards in Data
- Fluency in English
