Context And Mission
Within the Earth Sciences Department of Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), led by Prof Francisco Doblas-Reyes, the department is looking for a candidate to provide technical support to the Earth Sciences department in the areas of application management, data management, and other technologies.
The position provides information technology support services to staff and department members.
Key Duties
Maintain and further develop the IT services of the Department, including GitLab, Jenkins, OpenStack platforms and any other service application.
Regularly collect user requirements in terms of technical needs, and develop strategies to address them.
Update, deployment, maintenance and decommissioning of Department IT applications and software stack.
Contribute to the deployment of scientific software stack in new computing platforms (mainly HPC or cloud facilities).
Provide creative solutions to improve the quality of service, and to maintain the operationality of servers and workstations.
Keep track of these procedures and solutions and help to improve the user documentation by updating the department wiki and contributing to the regular newsletter.
Actively monitor service status and ensure high availability.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor in Computer Sciences or IT qualification or certification.
Essential Knowledge And Professional Experience
Familiarity with Linux server environment and deployment on servers and workstations.
Experience in advanced software management will be highly valued.
Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc).
Fluency in spoken and written English, while fluency in other European languages will also be valued.
Additional Knowledge And Professional Experience
Experience in monitoring solutions (Nagios, Grafana, Ganglia).
Knowledge and experience with cloud-based solutions will be valued (AWS, Azure, Oracle, etc).
Experience working with containerized applications (Docker, Singularity, Kubernetes).
Experience with Windows Operating System user support.
Competences
Capacity to interact and build strong relations with both Earth and computer scientists.

Conditions
The position will be located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department.
We offer a full-time contract (37.5 h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures.
Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
Holidays: 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona.

Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position.
– 40 points.
Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources.
In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated.
– 60 points.
A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process.
After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview.
At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.

A nivel estratégico

Product Marketing Manager

We're growing fast and looking for a Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to join our team—someone who loves technology, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to make a global impact.
This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary, and dynamic position, requiring close collaboration with the Product, engineering, content, Sales, and other Marketing teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, technology marketing, and the use of technology in marketing. As a product marketing manager, you will:
- Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for a range of products.
- Lead messaging and positioning efforts ensuring our products stand out in a competitive market.
- Lead content planning with product managers —from website copy to whitepapers, blogs, and sales enablement materials.
- Collaborate on marketing campaigns, partnering with regional marketing teams to execute integrated campaigns that drive pipeline growth.
- Launch new products and features, leading cross-functional teams to drive awareness and adoption.
- Run competitive analysis, staying ahead of market trends and evolving our positioning accordingly.
- Support the customer success team on driving customer engagement and growth, working on strategies to upsell and cross-sell across our customer base.
- Plan and execute global events, live webinars, and community meetups that align with our GTM priorities.

Your base pay will depend on various factors including your geographical location, level of experience, knowledge and skills. Requisitos
Experiencia mínima de 2 años en empresas del sector hotelero (hotel/cadena) en el area operativa (Front Office, Contratación, Reservas, Compras u otros departamentos operativos a nivel hotel y/o central administrativa), siendo este el último puesto ocupado.
Residencia en Mallorca.
Conocimientos de gestión hotelera, de procedimientos básicos en un hotel (front office y/o back office) o uso de herramientas de gestión (PMS).
Dotes analíticas y documentación de procesos.
Capacidad de hablar y exponer en público.
Capacidad para coordinar tareas y proyectos.
Conocimientos informáticos: ofimática (nivel intermedio).
Carnet de conducir.
Buena presencia y alta capacidad de expresarse en público.
Disponibilidad para realizar viajes nacionales e internacionales.

Desde el área de FS Consulting asesoramos a las Entidades Financieras y Compañías Aseguradoras en la definición de su estrategia, elaboración de planes de sistemas y revisión de sus procesos y gobierno IT; diseñamos nuevas arquitecturas digitales y colaboramos en la selección e implantación de soluciones tecnológicas que permiten a nuestros clientes acelerar su adaptación al nuevo entorno.
Actualmente, nos encontramos ampliando el equipo con un/a Junior Data Consultant, podrás participar en proyectos en los ámbitos de Estrategia tecnológica, Transformación Digital, Gestión de Riesgos Tecnológicos, PMO Services y Desarrollo de Tecnologías Emergentes.
¿Qué podrás hacer?
- Diseño y transformación de datos en lenguajes como SQL y Pyhon.
- Implantación, mantenimiento y monitoreo de procesos de ETLs
- Construcción de dashboards interactivos y reportes analíticos en herramientas de BI.
- Participación en proyectos de gobierno y calidad del dato
- Contribuir a validaciones de calidad de datos (checks de integridad, conteos, alertas básicas).
- Apoyar en seguridad y gobernanza (roles, gestión de secretos, PII).
- Grado en Ingeniería Técnica o Grado en Ingeniería (Informática, Física, Telecomunicaciones…)
- Al menos 1-2 años de experiencia en proyectos de consultoría relacionados con el procesamiento y análisis de datos con herramientas como Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Google Cloud…
- Conocimientos tecnológicos generales, así como en arquitectura e infraestructura tecnológica.
- Conocimientos prácticos de SQL para consultas y transformaciones básicas.
- Conocimientos básicos de Python orientados a tareas de datos.
- Familiaridad con servicios Cloud a nivel usuario.
- Uso de Git a nivel fundamental (clonar, ramas, PRs) y nociones de CI/CD (opcional).
- Nivel de inglés avanzado (B2-C1), tanto a nivel oral como escrito
- Experiencia en proyectos relacionados con el gobierno del dato y uso de herramientas como Collibra, Microsoft Pureview.
- Conocimientos y/o experiencia en Master Data Management (MDM)
- Certificaciones en Cloud o Data
- Experiencia con data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery o Redshift) o data lakes (S3/ADLS/GCS).
- Nociones de Spark/Databricks o streaming (Kafka/Kinesis/Pub/Sub)
- Herramientas de calidad/linaje (Great Expectations, data catalog)
- Conocimiento de BI (Power BI, Tableau o Looker)
