We are hiring an Engineering Director, who strives for taking ownership of the development and operations of internal software products serving Canonical business and a popular security solution Livepatch. A successful candidate has a track record of delivering full-stack software services, adheres to high engineering quality standards, and continuously develops their skills as well as skills of their direct reports. This is an exciting opportunity to work with highly enthusiastic people on exciting innovative engineering solutions supporting Canonical's growth and learn a lot about engineering for the business.

The engineering director will lead the Commercial Systems unit that is conceived as three engineering teams that closely collaborate with other engineering and business teams at Canonical. Services designed, developed, and operated by the Commercial Systems unit are at the heart of Canonical business. We are looking for a software engineering director to oversee the three software teams led by software engineering managers.

The Billing team designs, develops, and operates a Golang service that provides a standardized and scalable capability to turn metrics into billable amounts, enable customers to see their current spend with Canonical at any time, and ensure accurate, reliable, and timely billing. The service further integrates with other engineering, business and payment systems.

The Contracts team designs, develops, and operates a Golang service that will become the single source of truth for all contracts with all customers. The service provides a standardized CPQ capability and stores signed contracts in a structured format. The service further integrates with other engineering and business systems including a CRM system and an accounting system.

The Livepatch team designs and develops a service for the delivery of Linux kernel patches to shrink the exploit window for critical and high severity Linux kernel vulnerabilities, by patching the Linux kernel between security maintenance windows, while the system runs. The engineering team behind this product develops Golang based client and backend components, while another Canonical team, the Kernel team, develops the security patches.

Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

• Leading multiple teams of engineers, ranging from graduates to seniors

• Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university

• Engineering experience in at least one of the following areas: Golang, Python, Java, or distributed integrations

Position Summary

The Junior Integration Consultant supports the design, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation of integration solutions for customers and partners. Come join the Amazon Kids team in Madrid! Amazon Kids gives children the content that they love and devices built just for them. We also give parents the oversight and controls they need to feel safe. Our team in Madrid is focused on building out our features for parents to control their kids activity.

We´re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help form our team and influence the team culture and will help hire and develop the team. You will work with the team to quickly and iteratively deliver high quality software features. Your team´s work will often be mobile device (Android and iOS) focused but you will work across the software stack as needed. A day in the life

In this role, you´ll leverage your experience as a Software Engineer to solve difficult technical problems for cross platform mobile applications (FireOS, Android, iOS), often using React Native and/or Java. You´ll invent, design and build software that solves the challenges that kids and their parents face day-to-day. You´ll work closely with your leadership and product management stakeholders to design simple solutions. Descripción del empleo

Buscamos un ingeniero de preventa de datos de Google Cloud para incorporarse a nuestro equipo, la posición puede ser 100% remota desde España, aunque tenemos oficinas en Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Zaragoza y Valencia, por lo que también se puede hacer un híbrido.

En este puesto, actuará como experto técnico y asesor de confianza para los clientes potenciales, ayudándoles a comprender cómo las soluciones de datos de Google Cloud pueden transformar su negocio. Combinará un profundo conocimiento técnico con unas habilidades de comunicación excepcionales para impulsar el éxito de la preventa y apoyar a nuestro equipo de ventas en el cierre de acuerdos complejos.
- Realizar evaluaciones técnicas exhaustivas y analizar los requisitos de los clientes para diseñar soluciones de datos de Google Cloud personalizadas
- Realizar presentaciones de preventa convincentes, demostraciones de productos y talleres técnicos para clientes potenciales y partes interesadas
- Desarrollar pruebas de concepto, propuestas técnicas y arquitecturas de soluciones que aborden los retos empresariales específicos de los clientes
- Colaborar estrechamente con los equipos de ventas para identificar oportunidades, calificar clientes potenciales y apoyar todo el ciclo de ventas
- Proporcionar orientación técnica especializada sobre las plataformas de datos de Google Cloud, incluyendo BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL y servicios relacionados
- Resolver problemas técnicos y ofrecer soluciones durante las interacciones de preventa y las fases de prueba de concepto.
- Mantenerse al día de las actualizaciones de los productos de Google Cloud, las tendencias del sector y el panorama competitivo para conservar la experiencia técnica.
- Interactuar con los responsables de la toma de decisiones técnicas y los ejecutivos de alto nivel para comunicar el valor y las capacidades de las soluciones de Google Cloud.
- Contribuir al cierre de acuerdos abordando las inquietudes técnicas y demostrando un claro retorno de la inversión.

Requisitos
- Más de 3 años de experiencia en puestos de preventa, ingeniería de soluciones o consultoría técnica
- Sólidos conocimientos técnicos sobre los servicios de datos y análisis de Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experiencia demostrada en almacenamiento de datos, procesos ETL/ELT y soluciones de inteligencia empresarial
- Dominio de SQL y de los conceptos de modelado de datos
- Excelentes habilidades de presentación y comunicación, con capacidad para explicar conceptos técnicos complejos a un público sin conocimientos técnicos
- Sólidas habilidades analíticas y de resolución de problemas, con un enfoque orientado a los detalles
- Experiencia trabajando en colaboración con equipos multifuncionales, incluyendo ventas, producto y éxito del cliente
- Capacidad para aprender rápidamente nuevas tecnologías y adaptarse a un entorno dinámico
- Inglés alto, tanto escrito como hablado

Requisitos preferentes:
- Certificaciones de Google Cloud, como Professional Data Engineer o Associate Cloud Engineer
- Experiencia en programación con Python, Java o lenguajes similares
- Conocimientos sobre servicios de aprendizaje automático e inteligencia artificial en Google Cloud
- Experiencia con patrones de arquitectura de datos empresariales y mejores prácticas
- Experiencia en puestos técnicos de atención al cliente o gestión de cuentas
- Familiaridad con cuestiones de gobernanza de datos, seguridad y cumplimiento normativo en entornos en la nube

What we look for?

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Java/SpringBoot) to join our team and work on exciting projects for one of our clients in the banking sector.

Location: Hybrid in Madrid

Key Responsibilities:

- Work together in a cross-functional team using agile methodologies as part of a DevOps-centric model
- Design, implement, deploy, and monitor applications, ensuring a robust Software Lifecycle Management
- Understand business needs by effectively communicating with non-technical stakeholders across Julius Baer
- Take part in planning and feature refinement sessions, acting as a bridge between technical requirements and business value
- Together with System Architects, design software solutions aligned with the overall architecture vision
- Lead release coordination activities, ensuring smooth transitions and proper communication with all dependencies
- Manage L3 Support for incidents and service requests, ensuring all SLAs for Production Support are met
- Execute required audits, controls (access rights), and annual risk assessments to mitigate operational IT risks
- Support the System Architect in identifying and managing technical and architectural debt

Mandatory requirements:

- Core Java 17 and testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)
- Strong computer science knowledge (algorithms, data structures, OOP)
- Experience with Spring Boot 3.3.x and core Spring concepts
- Solid understanding of Relational Databases (Oracle DB 19), including SQL, joins, and indexing
- Hands-on experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, OpenAPI) and real-time communication via Websockets
- Knowledge of Java Messaging Concepts (MQ, JMS)
- Familiarity with web technologies, specifically AngularJS
- Experience managing application servers like Apache Tomcat
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Octopus, Bitbucket, and GitLab Actions
- Proactive mindset with excellent communication skills to interact with non-technical stakeholders
- Master or Bachelor in Computer Science or related field, or proven relevant working experience
- Very good English level
