About the Client
My client is the air transport industry's IT provider, delivering solutions for airlines, airports, aircraft and governments. Their technology powers more seamless, safe and sustainable air travel.
They are looking to hire a Product Manager with a background in Software Development to join on a contract/freelance basis for an initial 6-month contract.
About the Role
Working within the Innovation team you will be supporting the development of new products and services with a focus on Flight Trajectory Optimisation, specifically during Descent.
Key Duties
Customer Engagement:
• Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, including airlines, pilots, and aviation engineers, to gather deep insights into customer needs and pain points.
Product Specification Development:
• Translate customer feedback and requirements into detailed
product specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-func/onal teams to ensure alignment with technical feasibility and market demand.
Feasibility Studies:
• Lead and coordinate feasibility studies, working closely with software developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts.
• Evaluate technical, operayional, and financial viability of proposed solutions.
Collaboration:
• Partner with the software development team to ensure product designs are technically sound and align with strategic goals.
• Work alongside the innovation team to conceptualize and iterate on new solutions.
Project Management:
• Define clear milestones, timelines, and deliverables for the project.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives within the 6- month contract term.
What we are looking for
Professional Experience:
• Proven experience as a Product Manager, ideally within the aviation, software development, or technology sectors.
• Hands-on experience in developing new products from concept to feasibility stage.
Technical Expertise:
• Familiarity with flight operations, trajectory optimization, or aviation systems is highly desirable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and tools.
Skills:
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
Candidates must be open to working 3 days per week on site in Barcelona or Paris.
