JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for creating and executing Demand Plans that will support the company’s sales goals and strategies. Creating collaborative relationships across the sales, marketing and supply chain organizations is critical to the success of this position and this position is critical to the success of the company.
The Demand Planner will work in the Demand Planning team supporting the manager in establishing the best Demand Plan:
Monthly for the mid long term (typically 18m out) and weekly for the next 2-3m (inside the time fence). He/she will also work to establish the Demand Planning department as the “go to” point for any topic related to expected forthcoming demand.
This role requires strong business-data analysis skills, enabling the person to understand which are the relevant factors influencing demand:
· Hold profitable conversations with the commercial and Marketing teams (challenging them required)
· Communicating sales projections to Finance
· Run an efficient continuous improvement by understanding which assumptions have been generating the biggest demand plan error and bias.
ESSENTIAL DUTTIES & RESPONSABILITIES
1. Generation of Volume and value forecasting through executing the demand planning components of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Incorporate :
a.Sales/CBD inputs.
b.Marketing intelligence for new product launches and discontinuations.
c.Historical Sales from available data sources or/and Point of Sales (POS) information..
d.Business consensus on volumes.
e.Analyze and review sales, inventories, POS, consumption trends and monitor sales achievements to proactively identify issues and propose changes to the forecast and/or improvements.
f.Liaise with Marketing for new product launches and discontinuations. Evaluate assumptions (pre and post launch) – new product forecast, shade ranking, cannibalization..
g.Liaise with Sales to determine pipe forecast requirements for new product launches.
2.Coordinate and maintain demand planning databases and system. Understand and apply statistical models, depending on historical patterns and horizons using exception based planning. Understand past and future assumptions, risks and opportunities, and clean the sales data and build base forecast while keeping track of sales and marketing activity logs.
3.Prepare and distribute the various demand planning reports that support the business operation.
4. Report, analyze and deliver KPI´s (Forecast Bias & Accuracy, Customer Service KPI’s, Stock-on-hand days, Business Waste).
5. Highlight gaps in the demand plan and make sure that necessary actions are taken by related stakeholders.
6.Document, review, and evaluate qualitative and quantitative demand planning assumptions and provide feedback for improvement. Participate and engage in continuous improvement efforts to drive forecast accuracy.
7.Manage demand changes during the time fence (frozen period) with business and supply planning to agree on a common plan.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelors degree (MSc Engineering or similar)
• 3-5y experience in supply chain, at least 2y in Demand Planning
• SAP, Manugistics or APO
• Excel mastery
• APICS is a plus

• Strong analytical capability and attention to detail

• Ability to collaborate with other departments to reach a common goal
• Srong understanding of Supply Chain principles
• Desire to learn and grow in the position and company
• English working proficiency required. Other European languages will be considered as an asset.
