The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Regional Medical Director, Europe will make an impact:
- Develop regional medical affairs strategy, planning, and supportive tactics related to Viatris’ Hospital Innovation Portfolio (therapeutic area: gastroenterology/pain) in Europe and supporting launches by local medical teams.
- European regional medical point of contact for the Hospital Innovation Portfolio based on the prioritization of markets and brands.
- Ensures regional and country medical input into regional strategy and tactics.
- Drives the Europe medical strategy for the Hospital Innovation Portfolio and ensures country alignment within their region.
- Executes on Europe medical operating plan ensuring operational excellence in all activities.
- Responsible for coordination of Europe external medical stakeholder interactions; including KOLs.
- Direct the implementation of Europe medical strategies and plans for the Hospital Innovation portfolio.
- Represent and provide country/regional perspective for the Hospital Innovation Portfolio in collaboration with regional Commercial and country Medical and Marketing, Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs and Legal functions.
- Provide medical inputs and approvals in the development of materials, in keeping with Europe team priorities and timelines.
- Engage in customer facing activities and develop relationships with relevant regional thought leaders and medical organizations.
- Facilitate country medical interactions with local regulatory authorities and KOLs, as needed.
- Collaborate with HEOR colleagues to support initiatives in the region.
- Gather, evaluate, and act on medical intelligence from countries and region.
- Participate in the implementation of global/regional clinical trials conducted in the region, in liaison with the Research and Development organization.
- Contribute to the development, review, and approval of regional and country-sponsored clinical protocols and IITs.
- MD, PhD or PharmD or advanced degree in science
- Strong knowledge and experience in medical affairs
- Knowledge and experience within the specified portfolio (therapeutic area: gastroenterology/pain)
- The incumbent in this role will have oversight for products in Europe region and therefore experience and knowledge of the regional environment and therapeutic area KOL network would be an advantage
- Experienced in managing projects to completion
- Ability to discuss scientific aspects of drug development, also comfortable in discussing commercial and regulatory issues
- Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data; understand the emerging safety and efficacy profile of the drug including providing a perspective with comparator agents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills; includes strong interpersonal skills.
- Required fluency in English, other regional language proficiency is an advantage.
- Able to set priorities and manage cross-functional teams and complex projects to deliver milestones according to set budgets
- Proven ability to influence and succeed through others and to form excellent relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align with wide range of stakeholders, regionally and cross-functionally

The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Corporate Affairs trainee role will make an impact:
Viatris Foundation:
- Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the area activities.
- Assist in the organizing of Viatris Foundation events and attend them to facilitate their success.
- Collaborate & Follow-up of projects and budget for Viatris Foundation
- Ensure the updated maintenance of the Foundation’s website.
- Administrative support to the director of the Foundation
- Administrative tasks and archive of all the official documentation
- Collaborate in projects and follow-up on time within budget and within scope.
- Deal with contract creation and approval in LCM as well as PO initiation and tracking
- Organize internal and external and virtual meetings with stakeholders.
- Support corporate affairs director with department strategy, projects, and other administrative issues.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team (incl. medical, clinical, regulatory, ops, etc.) with a broad variety of the above-mentioned tasks.
- Willing to support the director to achieve results with a focus on public affairs/corporate affairs.
- Foster and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors/key stakeholders.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Collaborate & support in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics, ADE, or Life Science + Master´s degree in Market Access or Corporate Affairs.
- Advanced level of English
- Mandatory to be able to sign university agreement for 12 months and do the internship in full time basis.
- Available to start immediately
- Great command of MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Must possess following skills: ethics; accuracy; planning and organization; result orientation.
- Great relationship and communication capabilities.
- Availability for occasional travel as needed.
