HR BUSINESS PARTNER (industrial packaging sector)


A leading multinational company in the packaging sector is looking for an HR Business Partner. Reporting to the Head of HR in Spain, and covering two manufacturing sites based in Madrid with around 280 employees, you will work with the team to promote employee satisfaction and engagement, supporting the business in alignment with the business vision and strategy, while creating a work environment that fosters engagement, performance, and talent development.


This is a generalist role with experience in labor relations / labor knowledge with a clear focus on service and collaboration, responsible for providing strategic and operational support and advice to the organization and especially to the managers and leaders of the business.


You will work closely with a variety of partners across the business to support and accompany future growth.



  • Location: Madrid South, with responsibility over two sites – regular travelling between the two sites is required
  • Full Time. Monday to Thursday from 08h to 17h00 (with lunch break). Friday from 8h to 15h.
  • Hybrid model (4 days on site + possibility of one day teleworking).
  • Reporting to: Head of HR Spain
  • No direct reportsType of contract: Permanent.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Law, Social Graduate, A.D.E or similar. Master's degree in HR or Labor Relations highly valued.
  • Proven stand-alone HR Generalist experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the same Packaging sector, or in multi-site organizations of similar size (around 280 employees).
  • Experience in a multinational industrial environment.
  • Must have strong understanding and practical knowledge of Spanish labour law and experience of dealing with Work Councils
  • Languages required: Spanish fluent. English: level B2 - C1
  • Excellent Office skills.
  • Driver´s license and own vehicle to cover both sites


Responsibilities:

  • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, leaders and local management teams, partnering with the business, while advocating and managing HR initiatives roll out
  • Assisting in building strong talent pipelines across organisation and managing recruitment as appropriate at all levels, providingexpertise in technical and regulatory aspects of employment including hiring, termination, performance management, pay and reward processes etc
  • Using experience, skills and knowledge of the HR industry to make an impact in key areas such as change management, organisational design, employee engagement, retention and talent development and succession planning.
  • Proactive management of complex employee relations issues and address grievances in line with internal Policies & Procedures
  • Coaching and mentoring first line managers to ensure ownership of ‘HR as a line manager’
  • Support the Head of HR Spain on any HR related projects and initiatives related to engagement activities, work relationships, employer branding and increase productivity and retention.
  • Support on all people related topics/issues, ensuring alignment with the Group & HR & Business strategy;
  • Using people metrics, identify areas for development and improvement, and propose initiatives.
