Pennylane Deutschland

Deine Rolle

Wir suchen eine Product Designer mit fundierter Erfahrung im B2B-Produktdesign, um die Weiterentwicklung unseres Produkts in Deutschland aktiv mitzugestalten.

Wenn du gerne reale Nutzerprobleme löst, in einem kollaborativen Umfeld arbeitest und ein echtes Interesse daran hast, Nutzerverhalten und Geschäftsziele zu verstehen, wirst du bei Pennylane viele Gleichgesinnte finden.

Das bringst du mit

• Du verstehst sowohl Nutzerbedürfnisse als auch Business-Anforderungen und kannst Erkenntnisse aus User Research, Marktanalysen und Daten in pragmatische Lösungen übersetzen.
• Du hast Erfahrung mit komplexen digitalen Produkten und Systemen, beispielsweise mit mehreren Modulen, umfangreichen Funktionen oder komplexen Datenstrukturen.
• Du arbeitest eng mit Entwickler, Product Manager und weiteren Stakeholdern wie Sales oder Support zusammen und kannst technische Rahmenbedingungen sowie Business-Ziele in deine Arbeit integrieren.

• Du führst Discovery-Workshops und User Research durch und analysierst Daten, Nutzerfeedback und Business-Anforderungen.
• Gemeinsam mit deinem Product Manager verantwortest du die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung deines Produktbereichs.
• Du entwickelst Lösungen in der passenden Detailtiefe – von ersten Konzepten bis hin zu High-Fidelity-Prototypen.
• Du bringst deine Erfahrung aktiv ins Team ein, gibst Feedback an Kolleg und arbeitest an bereichsübergreifenden Themen mit.
  
  

Innerhalb der ersten sechs Monate

• Du unterstützt aktiv beim Ausbau unseres Teams und wirkst im Recruiting-Prozess mit.

Design at Pennylane

Design sits at the center of this mission and its purpose is to deliver a seamless, accessible and enjoyable experience for our users. Our team of 50+ product designers work across different tracks that are divided into cross-functional squads each consisting of Engineering, Product and Design. Autonomy, trust and transparency are the key values upon which our culture is built, this is directly reflected in how our designers operate on a day-to-day basis. At Pennylane, designers are expected to actively contribute all the way from defining the problem space, to research and testing.

We are seeking a Product Designer with strong B2B product design experience to help elevate and maintain an excellent user experience for our accountants and businesses. If you like solving real user problems in a highly collaborative environment and possess a genuine curiosity for understanding user behaviour, then you’ll find yourself surrounded by likeminded individuals at Pennylane.

For this role, we are looking for individuals with:

• The ability to understand problems and empathise with users through user research and data analysis, and to turn the result into actionable insights.
• Experience working closely with dedicated developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand technical constraints, align on project goals, and iterate on design solutions.
• Great communication skills and the ability to share knowledge with others, in the team and beyond, in a meaningful way.
• Excellent visual design skills with experience working on complex systems, including for example multiple modules, advanced features, and intricate data structures.
• The ability to document your design decisions and work with engineers and product managers to drive your projects forward, challenge limitations, adjust schedules, find alternatives, and advocate for your solutions in a relevant way.
• Experience generating new opportunities and ideas to improve our processes, products, and culture.
• Hands-on experience coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
• Fluent in both French and English. Being able to run user interviews in french is a must.
  
  

What You Can Expect From Your Life At Pennylane

Within one month

• You’ll learn everything about our company, our teams, and our vision during the first onboarding week.
• You’ll familiarise yourself with the product and the accounting industry (You will have access to a lot of documentation and will assist to trainings organised by your peers)

Within 3 months

• You will lead discovery and user research sessions ; diving into data, user feedback and business goals to tailor great user interviews and learn the best from our users.
• You will ensure a continuous delivery on your scope of the product, hand-to-hand with your PM, with the right level of quality for the right purpose (low-to-high fi, prototypes) and in consistency with the design system.
• You will contribute to the team effort, nourishing the team with your experience, reviewing your peers and tackling transversal topics.
  
  

Within 6 months

• You will mentor juniors Product Designers
• You will participate in the recruitment of new team members
• You'll remain on the look out for the best UX/UI practices, benchmarking the global tech ecosystem, aiming towards creating the best experience for Pennylane products.

The Mission

We are on a mission to democratize finance for over 7 million users. As our Senior Product Designer for Securities & Commodities, your mandate is to take the high-stakes, data-heavy complexity of equities, derivatives, commodities, and real-world assets (RWAs) and architect them into seamless, intuitive user journeys. In our collaborative, "no-silo" culture, this role tackles the heavy lifting of investment products at scale—partnering directly with Product, Engineering, Data and Compliance to drive real-time impact on conversion, retention, and user trust without sacrificing functionality.

What You Will Do

• The core of this role involves designing end-to-end trading and investment interfaces for TradFi and RWA products across mobile and web platforms, with the clear goal of increasing customer engagement and monetization.
• Dense financial mechanics—including margin trading, commodities trading, and automated recurring investments—must be translated into accessible, low-friction journeys that educate and empower both novice and experienced investors.
• Comprehensive user research, usability testing, and behavioral analysis will serve as your primary tools to diagnose funnel bottlenecks, validate product hypotheses, and continuously improve KPIs like trading conversion and drop-off rates.
• Active contributions to our scalable design architecture are expected, applying the highest UX standards to ensure high-quality, consistent touchpoints across all investment areas.
• Seamless partnership with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Legal teams in a fast-moving, regulated environment is critical to shape the product roadmap, validate customer problems, and ensure feasible, compliant feature implementations.

Who You Are

• A strong background in Product/UX/UI Design is required, featuring mandatory experience designing for complex fintech, brokerage, trading, or wealth management ecosystems.
• Exceptional proficiency in Figma, rapid prototyping, and interaction design is essential, alongside a proven ability to untangle data-heavy interfaces and intricate workflows into clean, elegant systems.
• Behavioral analytics, A/B testing, and funnel metrics should naturally drive your design decisions to proactively identify opportunities that boost customer engagement, adoption, and retention.
• A proven track record of thriving in fast-moving, highly regulated environments will demonstrate your ability to successfully negotiate solutions that satisfy strict Risk and Compliance requirements without compromising the end-user experience.
• High customer empathy and excellent stakeholder management skills are necessary to build long-term user trust while championing a product-driven, highly collaborative culture across the organization.
