WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

We are offering four internships in this area:

1) UX Design Internship for Product Adoption

We are looking for a Service/UX Product Designer to validate product usage with users across different markets and analyse product metrics to identify friction points. You'll design proposals to address these issues, working closely with our development team to bring your ideas to life.

This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in the full design process, from research to implementation, while being fully integrated into our team. You'll participate in key ceremonies to understand design’s role within a software development team and actively contribute to our success.

2) Product Design Internship for Innovation & Sustainability

We are seeking a Product Designer intern to contribute to a groundbreaking initiative that blends 3D office construction, intelligent product recommendations, service enablement, and sustainability. This project offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing and implementing cutting-edge technologies within a dynamic business environment.

Some of the responsibilities you'll have are:

• Assisting in the development and integration of 3D visualization tools for office construction and product placement.
• Contributing to the implementation of AI-driven recommendation systems to enhance customer shopping experiences.
• Supporting the integration of sustainable practices into project workflows and solutions.
• Collaborating on the enablement of service solutions, bridging technology and practical business needs.
• Conducting research and analysis to support project development and decision-making.
• Documenting project processes, findings, and recommendations.

3) Design Internship for xLab Innovation

Join us in shaping and running the first Global Experience Lab (xLab), located in our Alcorcón store, in Madrid. At the xLab, you’ll have the opportunity to support the team by enabling experiments, workshops and events that are helping our Digital and Retail organizations move forward and adopt a more innovative and continuous learning mindset.

This internship offers a hands-on experience, immersing you in key areas such as user research, communication & UX design, 3D modelling, tech exploration and driving innovation in large corporations like IKEA.

4) Design Internship for IKEA Membership Experience

Want to design experiences that help millions of customers bring their home ideas to life? We’re looking for a design intern to help shape the IKEA Family membership journey, from the screens people tap in our stores to the services that power it all behind the scenes.

As part of the IKEA Family team, you’ll dive into real projects that span digital touchpoints, third-party service integrations, and the full membership experience. You’ll get hands-on experience with design research, product design, and service design, all while contributing to building a seamless, omnichannel experience for our members.

We only accept students who live within commuting distance to the office in Madrid during the time of the internship, and who are connected to a university within the country. To participate in this internship, you must be enrolled in a relevant university program or educational course. Full-time is favoured, but a min. of 50% per week is acceptable. No exceptions will be made.

Duration: Fall 2025. Start date: September 1st 2025.
