The Norman Foster Institute (NFI) is an international Applied Research Centre dedicated to advancing sustainable urban development through education, research, and consultancy. Founded to address the pressing challenges of urbanisation, climate change, and social equity, the NFI integrates interdisciplinary approaches to create transformative strategies for cities worldwide. By combining innovative teaching, data-driven research, and actionable partnerships with municipalities, the NFI aims to shape the future of city-making while empowering the next generation of urban leaders.
We are currently seeking a Programme Assistant to join the NFI team.
Responsibilities:
City Consultancy
- Collaborate on projects related to urban consultancy and sustainable design.
- Support the planning and execution of urban transformation initiatives driven by the NFI.
- Manage data, reports and resources required for consultancy projects.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to Faculty and Students.
- Schedule appointments, meetings and events.
- Organise logistics, including venue reservations, catering and audiovisual equipment.
- Monitor and manage email correspondence on behalf of the NFI.
Facilities Management
- Oversee the maintenance and organisation of office spaces.
- Coordinate the purchase and repair of office equipment.
- Manage office supplies and inventory.
Policy and Procedure Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the institute’s policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance to students on university and institute policies.
Faculty Support
- Handle general administrative duties for Faculty as needed.
- Plan and organise NFI-related events, including coordinating travel arrangements and preparing detailed itineraries.
Student Support
- Assist in supervising both theoretical and practical seminars/workshops.
- Provide feedback on the students' projects
- Monitor student attendance records.
- Handle student inquiries in the absence of Faculty.
- Support students with visa processes and compile, distribute and coordinate student portfolios.
- Assist with student activities such as registration and scheduling.
- Address student concerns and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to work in a team and efficiently handle multiple tasks.
- Interest in urban design, architecture and sustainable city consultancy.
