This role is a hybrid role, based in our Barcelona office.

About The Role
Data is our compass. We let data, hard facts, and numbers drive our strategy, our product development, and our way forward. Here’s how we work: Our Data Strategy team collects and integrates our own proprietary data and third-party licensed content – we process and integrate millions of articles a day from more than 33,000 news and business sources from nearly 200 countries in 26 languages, while also providing equity exchange data from 49 countries and over 80,000 listed instruments. During this internship, you will work on a variety of projects and tasks assigned by and under the direction of managers in the Data Strategy organization.
You Will
- Work on projects to help ensure the smooth passage and timely delivery of content from providers ranging from The Wall Street Journal to social media sources
- Research customized reports and newsletters from online news content and publicly available records
- Test the accuracy and completeness of Dow Jones data related to companies, executives, and financial markets
- Compile reports for Dow Jones Due Diligence on companies and individuals to identify legal, regulatory, and reputational issues
- Build and enhance content for Dow Jones Risk & Compliance in areas including anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, and economic sanctions
- Completed at least two years of college level study
- Excellent research and editorial skills
- Knowledge of or an interest in political, economic, and international affairs
- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- English language proficiency with other language skills being a plus
- Basic Python, HTML and/or SQL expertise is a plus

About The Role
The B2C Analytics team focuses on developing analytics solutions to help the organization make better data driven decisions. Our team is passionate about enabling others to use data and analysis to measure and monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities and find ways to continually add value.
You will primarily support the Consumer side of the business, which includes WSJ, Barron's, MarketWatch and more; but may also include exposure to other areas of the business, such as advertising and the professional information business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in developing datasets, dashboards and data solutions that drive core insights. You will report to the Senior Manager, B2C Analytics.
You Will
Develop Stakeholder Partnerships
- Develop strong partnerships with Product, Marketing, Newsroom, Finance, Data Collection, Data Engineering and other B2C Stakeholder Business teams and work across all levels and areas of the organization.
- Executie data project roadmaps based on Business teams' priorities.
- Build a deep understanding of all the B2C data sources that we leverage in our Analysis projects
- Partner with data engineers and data collection colleagues to collect, cleanse and organize data.
- Analyze large datasets to surface trends and deliver recommendations with tangible business outcomes.
- Create intuitive reports, dashboards and data solutions using visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker Studio)
- Continuously identify ways to improve and streamline processes around data and reporting
- Ensure the quality of data and reporting, and partner with teams to improve accuracy and consistency
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Team oriented and collaborative with eagerness to help others, and aspiration to be challenged and learn
- Self starter able to work independently, coordinate with multiple partners and complete projects start to finish
- Detail oriented with focus on assuring quality, consistency and accuracy in data and processes
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in combination of training and experience, preferably in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Experience working with large datasets in a fast-paced and fluid environment with the ability to understand and solve complex non-routine problems.
- Experience with SQL and strong knowledge of Excel/Sheets required. Familiarity with Github, Python/R preferred.
- Experience with web analytics tools (particularly Google Analytics 4 and Adobe Analytics) is a plus.
