About H2SITE:

H2SITE is a deep-tech start-up that uses advanced membrane reactor technology to solve the hydrogen transport problem by converting hydrogen carriers with well-known supply chains and separating hydrogen gas blends into fuel cell purity hydrogen.

Founded in 2020 in Bilbao, Spain, it emerged as a spin-off from two renowned research and development centers in collaboration with ENGIE New Ventures as its first industrial investor: TECNALIA, the largest private research center in Southern Europe specializing in membranes and material sciences among other fields, and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe), a reference in process intensification. Headquartered in Bilbao, the company employs over 60 team members in its unique membrane production facilities located in Loiu, Spain.

We have built a membrane factory that is unique in the world, where we manufacture our units that provide solutions for the hydrogen transport problem. For our development we rely on the local industrial ecosystem and top-level international investors.

We have developed a technology of membrane reactors for the separation and production of hydrogen in situ from different feedstocks, such as ammonia, methanol, formic acid, syngas from waste…

Mission:

As a Metal Membrane Laboratory Technician, you will focus on developing advanced membranes designed specifically for the efficient separation of hydrogen from other gases, aiming to enhance performance and selectivity for sustainable energy applications and industrial processes.

Functions:

• Prepare chemical formulations. Both solid and liquid reagents.
• Usage of mechanical equipment for the manufacturing of the membranes Carry out surface deposition processes
• Carry out thermal treatments during the fabrication process
• Quality control of produced membranes: visual inspection and surface characterization, leak test, N2 flux, etc…
• Other chemical characterizations: Measure concentration of reagents by ICP, valorizations, …
• Usage of minor laboratory equipment: balance, ultrasonic bath, stirring baths, pH meter…
• Performance test at the company test benches using gas mixtures and testing membrane’s performance

What you´ll need to Succeed:

Professional training:

• Técnico superior en laboratorio de análisis y control de calidad or
• Técnico superior de análisis y control químico or
• Other similar related with laboratory/chemistry duties.

Desirable education:

B2 level of communication skills.

Professional Experience:

At least 2 years

Previous experience in R&D laboratories, lined to industry applications.

Previous experience with surface deposition techniques.

Experience with maintenance of industrial equipment is a plus.
