FOOD & BEVERAGE DIVISION In order to get a clear overview what positions offered as a trainee, we have created a list of the departments within the F&B Division. Please be reminded that this information serves as a guide. During the first day at the hotel, the welcome day, you will have an interview with your divisional leader. After this interview, the divisional leader will decide in which department you would develop your skills best. While considering your profile, the divisional leader will place you in a department where you will have a great impact. Furthermore, you will have opportunities for lateral service, which gives you the change to develop your talents in other departments.

F&B Tasks: Greet and escort customers to their tables, present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies), prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses, inform customers about the day’s specials, offer menu recommendations upon request, up-sell additional products when appropriate, take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization, communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff, arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area, deliver checks and collect bill payments, meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties), etc.

ENOTECA: Our two Michelin star restaurant Enoteca, overseen by renowned Catalan chef Paco Pérez. Inspired by the food and produce of the Mediterranean, an innovative cooking brings out the essence of high quality local ingredients, with an emphasis on fish and seafood.

BITES: Our chic and relaxed Bites Restaurant, offers fast and informal dishes so that guests can enjoy a delicious meal at any time of the day, while our excellent team of Ladies take genuine care of our guests.

MARINA: Marina restaurant is the star of the summer season! Offering light, informal meals in the open air, and being a challenging outlet where efficiency and sympathy are key to guests. The menu features salads, cold soups, cheeses and wood-baked pizzas.

BANQUETING: One of the biggest and most diverse departments of the hotel, where you have the possibility to experience the most incredible events in the whole city. Hotel Arts hosts amazing events both inside and outside the hotel, in emblematic locations such as the Camp Nou or Casa Batlló.

THE PANTRY: More than a restaurant, an innovative speakeasy concept where real food and straightforward earthy gastronomy are the primal elements and sharing style cuisine is the uttermost goal. With the mission of spreading the Barcelonan culture, in the pantry you will live everything that so well defines the Mediterranean destination.

LOKAL: Our breakfast buffet restaurant gives us the best occasion to create a strong and durable relationship with our guests. Every morning should be the start of a perfect and memorable day.

P41 BAR & COCTELARIUM: It is our sophisticated lounge bar where our guests can indulge delicious cocktails, champagne or wine. Prove your bartender skills creating innovative cocktails and providing an unforgettable and sophisticated evening to our Ladies & Gentlemen.

IN ROOM DINING: In Room Dinning delivers the culinary experience to the guests’ rooms, courteously and efficiently. IRD will enhance your capacity of organization and teamwork in an international and challenging ambience.

CULINARY DIVISION The Culinary Division Accelerated Training Program has been designed to provide practical fundamental experience to those perusing a focus in the hospitality and culinary industry. Upon successful completion of the training the growth and opportunities in the hotel and the whole company is immense!

Culinary tasks: Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales, study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients, cook food in a timely manner, ensure appealing plate presentation, slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy, monitor food stock and place orders, check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items, ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

ENOTECA: Award winning two Michelin Star restaurant where Chef Paco Pérez offers a super menu of Mediterranean specialties and wine cellar with over 500 references.

BITES: Chic, restaurant for fast, informal food at any time of the day specialized in coffee.

LOKAL: An exquisite breakfast served every day.

MAIN KITCHEN: Different inspiring sections within the main kitchen of the hotel, where there is also the banqueting team (for our in-site and off-site catering events).

PASTRY KITCHEN: Sylvain Guyez, our French pastry chef, creates artistic and extraordinary deserts for the perfect final touch of a culinary experience.

FINANCE Finance: Preparation of the Daily Financial Reports, daily payment control, bank reconciliation, control of commissions and bonds of Travel Agencies, resolution of incidents with guests, preparation of pro-forma invoices for future groups.

Income Auditor: Preparation of the Daily Financial Reports, control of daily charges, preparation of revenue reports for the Finance Director, preparation of daily reports for the Executive Offices, control of the internal cashier, control of internal adjustments, sales and promotions.

Purchasing: Prepare purchase orders, prepare Daily Purchase Reports for the Finance department, inventory control, reconciling Invoices and Purchase Notes, negotiation with Suppliers, prepare monthly closures, controlling and monitoring purchasing processes of all departments.
