With locations in Amsterdam (2016), Barcelona (2021), and London (2024), Moco exhibits iconic works by celebrated artists and emerging talents. The museum’s collection includes works by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Banksy, KAWS, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Yayoi Kusama and Studio Irma. With over 5 million visitors, including figures such as Barack Obama, Steven Spielberg, Venus Williams, Adele, Tim Cook, and Dua Lipa, Moco continues to engage visitors with its thought-provoking exhibitions.
THIS IS YOU
The museum store sales assistant of the museum is responsible for all sales activities and sales associate job duties, from greeting customers, answering questions, helping, suggesting items, lending opinions, and providing product information. Individual responsibilities as a Retail Sales Associate may include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, keeping the selling floor stocked with merchandise, addressing customer complaints, assisting in the display of merchandise, or organizing the selling floor and stock areas.
The museum store sales assistant must process payments by totalling purchases, operating cash registers and financial transactions, processing cash and payment cards. The retail sales assistant must maintain a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting the store's commitment to our visitors and customers. The sales associates must stay current with promotional events and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service, greeting and assisting visitors with enthusiasm and expertise.
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their interests and preferences, offering personalized recommendations.
- Maintain a professional and inviting presence on the sales floor, ensuring a visually appealing and organized environment.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including sales, memberships, and gift wrapping services.
- Respond to customer inquiries with detailed knowledge of our museum and product offerings.
- Ensure proper presentation and maintenance of merchandise, including restocking and arranging displays.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including regular stock counts and identifying product shortages.
- Adhere to cash handling procedures and reconcile register balances at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Follow scheduling and zoning guidelines to optimize store operations and customer service.
- Participate in training sessions to deepen your understanding of our museum, products, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate with store management to address any issues or concerns related to inventory and customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the store.
- Actively engage with the Moco Museum by attending exhibitions, events, and educational programs.
- Participate in training opportunities to expand your knowledge of art and design.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment by attending staff meetings and sharing ideas for improvement
- Previous retail experience preferred (min 2 years) with a passion for art and culture.
- Spanish and English is required, other languages will be a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in art or design is a plus.
