An esteemed academic book publisher is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commissioning/Acquisitions Editor for its Seville office.

This role is ideal for a publishing professional with a strong background in academic content development, an in-depth understanding of scholarly publishing, and the ability to identify and nurture high-quality manuscripts.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive team, working exclusively in English, in a role that offers both intellectual engagement and career development.

Key Responsibilities:Oversee the acquisition and development of academic books in the social sciences and humanities.Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, researchers, and institutions.Assess manuscript proposals and provide editorial guidance to ensure high academic standards.Work closely with internal teams to shape publishing strategy and maintain editorial excellence.Stay informed about trends in academic publishing and contribute to the company's growth.Requirements:A degree in the social sciences or humanities.Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with authors and researchers.Strong editorial judgment and the ability to evaluate academic content effectively.A solid understanding of academic publishing, including peer review and market trends.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.Preferred Qualifications:Native English speaker (or equivalent fluency) is an advantage.Previous experience in the book industry, particularly in academic publishing.Postgraduate qualification, research experience, or academic publications.Familiarity with social media as a tool for academic outreach and engagement.Multilingual skills beyond English and Spanish.How to Apply:Interested candidates should send an up-to-date CV to ******.
