To ensure that our companies continue to grow with the best leadership and talent, we are looking for a Chief Talent Officer (CTO)—a visionary leader who can shape the future of our teams and drive the next phase of our success.
As Chief Talent Officer, you will operate at the holding level, ensuring that every company within YOUNG has the best people to drive growth. This role is not about operational recruitment, but about identifying, attracting, and developing top leadership and talent across all businesses. You will lead YOUNG Talents (www.ytalents.nl), our dedicated talent acquisition and recruitment company, and ensure that it effectively supports the hiring needs across the entire YOUNG Group.
This position is primarily focused on senior roles—finding and securing the top leaders and key people who will drive our companies forward. You will work internationally, covering the Netherlands, Spain, and soon the United States, requiring strong multilingual communication skills.
- Develop and implement a strategic talent plan across all YOUNG companies.
- Focus on senior and leadership positions, ensuring that each company has the best talent at the top.
- Work closely with founders and executives to understand their leadership needs and proactively find the right people.
- Ensure succession planning and long-term leadership development across the organization.
- Act as a connector between all companies, ensuring synergy in hiring and team development.
- Oversee and lead YOUNG Talents (www.ytalents.nl), aligning it with the broader vision of talent acquisition and development.
- Operate on an international level, focusing on the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States as key markets.
- Communicate fluently across different regions—strong language skills are essential.
- A strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset who can see the bigger picture.
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A people person who naturally identifies, attracts, and nurtures top talent.
- Experience in executive recruitment, talent strategy, or organizational development.
- Ability to swim across different companies and industries, understanding what talent is needed where.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to align teams and drive a unified talent strategy.
- Multilingual proficiency—you can communicate effectively in Dutch, English, and Spanish.

Through its Young Talent Programme, Smurfit Westrock is selecting 6 young graduates to develop all their skills through this highly competitive programme in the industry.
The Young Talent Programme will take you through the main areas of the company including Operations & Production, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Health & Safety and Human Resources.
You will be assigned three different projects with 9 months of duration every of them ( 27 months), where you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to create your proposal, present different options and develop those that best suit the company's needs. At the end of each internship, you will have to formally present the project to the management.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved with other areas of the business.
Requisitos
What are the requirements to participate in the programme?
-Graduates in: Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ADE, Economics, Marketing, or International Trade or similars.
-1-3 years experience.
-High level of English (C1). You will be tested.
-Geographic mobility at national and international level is a must
-Good communication and social skills (daily contact with operational units based in various countries and within cultural environments)
-Able to work to deadlines and work under pressure and using own initiative.
-The candidate must be very precise and enjoy solving problems.
-The candidate should enjoy working in an international environment.
-Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize own workload.-Eager to excel, determinated and committed to take responsibility and be involved in the development of this programme and your own career.
