The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team building innovative eCommerce experiences.

As a Engineering Manager, you will drive the design, development and technical ownership of a core element of our platform. You will collaborate with Architecture, Product, and your Engineering Leads to deliver and maintain a high volume secure system that continues to support rapid growth in scale and roadmap.

We are looking for a Engineering Manager with the highest level of technical and people management skills and a passion for building high-performing teams and driving technical excellence.

You should want to do things better, as we believe in continuous improvement of the development process, and you should have an opinion and contribute to improving our engineering practices. It would help if you cared about agile, continuous integration, deployment, DDD, TDD, unit testing and integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of full stack engineers.
• Work with and provide day to day leadership and support to an engineering team responsible for developing/delivering key features within its domain.
• Work with engineering and product leaders to drive close collaboration within the global teams.
• Drive execution to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Collaborate across functions to support planning and road-map prioritization.
• Drive technical strategy, architecture, and execution for scalable, high-performance UI.
• Anticipate technical challenges and define strategy through long-term planning.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering OR equivalent experience.
• Fluent English speaker: most of our team doesn't speak Spanish!
• Proven experience in engineering leadership and team management.
• Experience with agile project management, development methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Nice-to-have, but not mandatory: experience with our tech stack (.NET, Azure, Angular, Kubernetes and Kafka).

For a candidate that we assess as possessing considerable relevant experience, the salary on offer tends to be between £112,189 and £250,512 in London, and €107,837 and €188,848 elsewhere in Europe. Compensation varies by location and expected impact, and grows rapidly as you gain experience and translate it into greater contributions. For individuals who demonstrate exceptional capability, we may offer compensation that extends beyond the usual ranges to reflect their higher expected impact. If you're offered a permanent contract, you'll also be able receive some of your pay in company equity at a discounted price, thus participating in the value creation we achieve together. ¿Qué necesitamos de ti?

Titulación: Grado en Informática o titulación relacionada.

Conocimientos y/o experiencia:
- Diseño e implementación de soluciones TI aplicadas a la industria financiera y seguros.
- Arquitectura de soluciones, migración de sistemas legacy y optimización de infraestructuras TI.
- Gestión de equipos para el diseño, desarrollo y soporte de migraciones o transformaciones tecnológicas.
- Diseño, desarrollo y mantenimiento de aplicaciones de sector financiero y seguros basadas en tecnologías Java, COBOL, C, C++, PL/SQL, Unix, Shell Script, servidores aplicaciones J2EE, frontales web, etc.

REQUISITOS :

Idiomas:
Inglés con nivel medio-alto tanto hablado como escrito.

Competencias y habilidades:
- Gestión de equipos multidisciplinares para el diseño, implementación y resolución de problemas complejos de las soluciones.
- Comunicación efectiva y capacidad de sintetizar y presentar soluciones de forma ejecutiva.
- Capacidad de interpretar los requerimientos de negocio y transformarlos en requerimientos para las soluciones técnicas a adoptar.
- Uso de metodologías ágiles como Scrum o Kanban para el desarrollo de proyectos.

Conocimientos informáticos:
- Amplios conocimientos en lenguajes de programación utilizados en la industria financiera y seguros, así como en el diseño e implementación de soluciones tecnológicas utilizando dichos lenguajes.
- Conocimientos en bases de datos relacionales (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, etc.) y no relacionales (mongodb, hadoop, etc.).
- Conocimientos en plataformas Cloud, principalmente Microsoft Azure y Oracle Cloud Infraestructure, pero también deseables en Oracle Cloud Platform y Amazon WebServices.
- Funcionamiento de redes de comunicaciones, tanto en Datacenter como Cloud.

Certificaciones:
Deseable la posesión de certificaciones que avalen el nivel de conocimiento aportado.

¿Qué funciones realizarás?
- Análisis a alto nivel de soluciones en base a los requerimientos de negocio para su implantación.
- Definición de los requerimientos no funcionales que han de cumplir las soluciones diseñadas/adoptadas.
- Documentación de diseño de la arquitectura técnica y coordinación de las tareas a realizar por las diferentes autoridades de diseño de la arquitectura.
- Identificación de los riesgos inherentes a la solución y ejecución de proyectos de implantación, así como propuesta de alternativas que faciliten la mitigación de estos.
