You will 🚀

• Conduct technical and market research on across key protocols and technologies and emerging trends, delivering insights for both internal and external audiences.
• You will cultivate relationships with researchers, developers, academic institutions and investors, extending the reach of our research and laying the foundations for strategic investments and partnerships.
• Lead technical due diligence efforts to evaluate potential investments and strategic partnerships.
• Monitor and synthesise industry developments to provide strategic recommendations for investments, partnerships, and product development.
• Propose and develop innovative research topics, prioritising areas with the potential to drive significant impact in the community and on P2P's business.
• Represent P2P at conferences and events, participating in panels, networking, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
• Support the organisation’s strategic initiatives by contributing technical and strategic analyses of protocols, technologies, and market dynamics.
• Track and engage with blockchain protocol developments through technical documentation, GitHub repositories, governance forums, and developer communities.
• Propose proof-of-concept projects to validate research findings and explore new opportunities.
• Your ultimate goal: Become a go-to source for our team, our partners, and the wider community in your domain of expertise.
  
  

You have 🤓

• A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. You must be comfortable with code and the technical aspects of protocol and smart contract development.
• Strong quantitative and data analytics skills
• Experience conducting research and analysis in crypto or across other emerging technologies.
• A demonstrated passion for and active involvement in the crypto ecosystem (e.g., publishing research, contributing to projects, or developing thought leadership). When we speak to you, you'll clearly know a lot more than us about some area of crypto. (For example: areas of technical advancement in Bitcoin; co-processors, cryptography, secure hardware, co-processers, TEEs, mechanism design, etc)
• Open-mindedness and an ability to navigate complex, cross-disciplinary research challenges.
• Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly in writing and presentations. Experience publishing academic papers or technical reports related to blockchain, distributed systems, or cryptography. (Share us a sample of your writing to jump to the top of our candidate list)
• Experience working with open-source projects and communities
• Knowledge of tools like the Zettelkasten method for knowledge management (Nice-to-have)
