The Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Group (GMEG) is looking for a Predoctoral Research Assistant to conduct a doctoral thesis on liquid biopsy biomarkers (ctDNA) and pancreatic cancer minimum residual disease to identify the clinical and epidemiological factors affecting the performance of these biomarkers.

The Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Group (GMEG) focuses its research on identifying agents and mechanisms involved in the etiology of bladder and pancreatic cancers to facilitate their application in clinical and public health settings. To achieve this, it employs a wide range of biomarkers to better characterize exposures, genetic susceptibility patterns, and cancer phenotypes. The omics data offer a unique opportunity in this context, and the group is investigating their integration into epidemiological studies. The evaluation of the performance of these biomarkers and their translation into clinical practice also falls under the scientific interests of GMEG. Selection Criteria

• Degree in Bio/Medical Sciences.
• Postgraduate training in bioinformatics and AI.
• Research experience with large databases.
• Experience in the preparation of scientific reports/manuscripts.
• Participation in cancer research projects.
• Programming capacity and statistical analysis (R, python).
• Excellent level of spoken and written English.
• Oral communication skills and a high academic record will be valued.
