The Opportunity
ESW has embarked on our biggest technical program of our history and are looking for someone to be at the core of the major transformation moving from monolith platforms to a modern, event-driven, micro-service architecture on the Microsoft Azure cloud (leveraging CosmosDB and JSON designed Events).
Data is at the center of our thinking and with this role comes a huge opportunity for someone that is looking to advance their data career. Someone that has experience understanding large, complex data platforms/models and is used to having to identify the right stakeholders to get an understanding of what feeds that data, what consumes it and is comfortable with a toolbox of how best to then document the data lineage, to support the future state of our architecture.
Working in our GCP focused data, but closely with Architecture, you will be able to write and understand complex T-SQL Statements (our monolith is a SQL Server platform). You will understand key concepts like: Data Modelling, Data Lineage and System Integrations (and impact of data). Ideally you will understand APIs (and be able to test them via Postman) to support understanding integrations in and out of our data platforms.
Critical to this role is the ability to show great consultative skills, dealing with senior and technical stakeholders whilst being used to working for large periods of time in analysis and design. The right candidate is dynamic, wants to progress their career (lots of opportunities to move to BI, Engineering or Architecture) and happy to roll their sleeves up to deliver the most important initiative ESW has ever embarked upon!
While frequent travel is not expected, there will be required visits to our sites in the US, Europe and Worldwide; mainly focused in Madrid, Dublin and New York.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and document the data lineage of monolith platform databases.
- Become the domain expert on how data is used, its origins, and its business linkage to key tables/fields.
- Ensure program deliverables and deadlines are met.
- Identify and call out blockers, issues, and risks to the program team and line management.
- Handle relationships with senior product, business, and technical collaborators.
- Develop a deep understanding of ESW enterprise data.
- Provide insights into the broader implications of data usage and migration.
- Produce high-quality documentation, such as data lineage reports, data models, and technical reports.
- Tailor deliverables to meet the expectations of specific stakeholders and program requirements.
- Promote the importance of data quality, governance, and ownership, acting as a data advocate across the business.
- Identify and map critical data dependencies across services, applications, and downstream systems.
- Ensure a smooth migration process with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define benchmarks for data quality.
- Conduct validation checks to ensure data integrity before and after migration.
- Bridge gaps between development, architecture, and business teams.
- Evaluate and document potential impacts of data migration on existing processes, tools, and reporting systems.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with these changes.
- Partner with developers and architects to define event schemas.
- Ensure backward compatibility between legacy and modern systems.
- Identify and recommend tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance data analysis, modelling, and documentation processes.
- Proficiency with SQL Server Profiler or equivalent and advanced T-SQL skills to query and interrogate complex databases effectively.
- Knowledge of ETL pipelines to understand current data flows.
- Familiarity with the basic concepts of event sourcing and stream processing.
- Basic skills with Postman for debugging, testing, and mocking API integrations
- Familiarity with tools like Power BI, Looker, or Azure Data Studio for creating accessible data models and lineage reports.
- Ability to generate visuals tailored to business stakeholders.
- Expertise in reading, understanding, and building JSON and AVRO data models.
- Basic knowledge of cloud data services, with an emphasis on Azure CosmosDB or similar services.
- Retail Industry Experience is a plus.
- Legacy System Migration Expertise is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to translate technical insights into business-friendly language.
- Conflict Resolution: Skilled at navigating competing stakeholder priorities and driving consensus.

En Bershka buscamos incorporar a un/a Product Owner - Digital Product Management para ser el responsable directo de la gestión y evolución del producto dentro de su Squad. Su principal función es garantizar que el equipo desarrolle soluciones alineadas con la estrategia de negocio y con las necesidades del usuario, priorizando iniciativas que maximicen el impacto. ¿Cuáles serían tus funciones?
Gestión y Desarrollo del Producto:
- Definir, gestionar y priorizar el backlog del producto del squad, asegurando que refleje las prioridades estratégicas y las necesidades del usuario.
- Traducir la visión del producto en historias de usuario claras, detalladas y accionables para el equipo de desarrollo.
- Asegurar que las funcionalidades entregadas sean medibles, optimizando su impacto en la experiencia del usuario y en el negocio. Impulsando la experimentación y la mejora continua a través de pruebas A/B y análisis de datos.
- Colaborar con equipos de UX/UI, Data y Research para fundamentar las decisiones de producto en datos e insights del usuario.

Relación directa y gestión del Squad:
- Trabajar en colaboración con desarrolladores, diseñadores y analistas asegurando la entrega de valor en cada sprint, que comprendan los requerimientos y objetivos de cada funcionalidad. El squad es el principal stakeholder del squad.
- Facilitar la comunicación entre los miembros del squad, asegurando claridad en los objetivos y expectativas de cada iniciativa.
- Fomentar un buen ambiente de trabajo basado en la colaboración, la transparencia y el aprendizaje continuo.
- Participar activamente en las ceremonias ágiles (sprint planning, refinements, daily meetings, retrospectives) y garantizar que el equipo tenga claridad en las prioridades.

- Asegurar la alineación entre las decisiones del squad y la estrategia general del producto digital. Fomentar la democratización de las decisiones.
- Trabajar bajo la guía del Lead PO, asegurando consistencia en la gestión de producto entre los diferentes squads.
- Garantizar que el squad sea autónomo en la ejecución y toma de decisión, pero alineado con los objetivos estratégicos generales.
- Facilitar la comunicación entre equipos de desarrollo y stakeholders, asegurando un entendimiento mutuo de las prioridades.
Relación con el CDO en la formación de squad:
- Alinear la visión estratégica del squad con las directrices establecidas por el CDO, asegurando que el backlog y roadmap reflejen los objetivos del negocio.
- Colaborar con el CDO en la formación del squad, ayudando a definir roles, necesidades de recursos y estructura del equipo para garantizar su efectividad.
- Traducir las prioridades estratégicas del CDO en iniciativas tácticas, asegurando que el squad las implemente de manera eficiente.
- Participar en revisiones periódicas con el CDO, reportando avances, métricas clave, bloqueos y oportunidades de optimización.

Calidad y Entregables:

- Ajustar estrategias y funcionalidades en función de insights generados por research y feedback de usuarios. Promover una cultura de mejora continua dentro del squad, fomentando la experimentación y el aprendizaje iterativo.

- Experiencia previa en gestión de productos digitales o roles similares (mínimo 3 años).

What We Need
We are seeking a skilled and passionate QA Associate Test Manager to join our dynamic team in the video game industry. As a QA Associate Test Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our game titles throughout the development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans, handle test processes, and drive the overall quality assurance strategy.
What You'll Do
Test Planning and Strategy:
- Collaborate with project collaborators to dene test objectives, scope, and strategies for assigned game titles.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough coverage of game features, functionalities, and performance metrics.
- Identify and prioritize test requirements based on project milestones, goals, and risk assessments.
- Be responsible for the execution of test plans and test cases across multiple platforms and devices, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices.
- Coordinate with QA testers to ensure timely and accurate execution of test cases, supervising defects and issues through resolution.
- Monitor test progress, provide regular status updates, and call out critical issues to project collaborators as needed.
- Implement and maintain excellent practice for QA processes, methodologies, and tools within the QA team.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing workflows to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of test documentation, processes, and deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and project
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with development teams, product managers, and other collaborators to understand project requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, and programmers to provide feedback on gameplay, user interface, and technical performance from a quality assurance perspective.
- Champion a collaborative and communicative environment to facilitate efficient problem-solving and decision-making across teams.
- Provide regular updates on progress/risks to QA management.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to QA Feature Leads and Testers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive work culture that values diversity, creativity, and innovation.
- Experience in quality assurance/testing roles within the video game industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong understanding of game development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test execution across multiple platforms and devices.
- Familiarity with testing tools, bug tracking systems, and quality assurance methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A love for gaming and a commitment to delivering high-quality, immersive gaming experiences.
- Knowledge of performance testing, compatibility testing, and localization testing.
- Experience with game certification processes (e.g., TRC, TCR, LotCheck) for major gaming platforms.
- Relevant certifications in software quality assurance/testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) would be a plus.
