The General Plant Manager will hold a strategic leadership role, overseeing the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and conservation of facility. This position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, resource optimization, and the safety of all plant operations. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing complex technical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop and implement operational, maintenance, and laboratory management plans.
- Establish master operational guidelines and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Oversee financial and human resource management for the facilities
- Operational Oversight:
- Direct day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the plant's production capacity
- Supervise the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure the proper execution of laboratory tests and analyze data to optimize plant processes.
- Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, regulatory agencies, and technical service providers.
- Coordinate visits and inspections with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong communication with the client’s technical team and ensure timely reporting.
- Regulatory & Compliance Management:
- Ensure adherence to quality, environmental, and health & safety management plans.
- Maintain and submit operational records and reports as required by regulatory agencies and company policies.
- Implement and monitor compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental standards at the facility
- Crisis Management & Incident Response:
- Establish response mechanisms for alarms and incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
- Investigate complaints, anomalies, and faults, coordinating with internal teams and external workshops for resolutions.
- Lead emergency response initiatives and remedial actions as required.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and guide all plant personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Coordinate with discipline-specific managers (e.g., production, administration, HSE, maintenance) to achieve operational goals.
- Promote safety awareness and address unsafe working conditions promptly.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
Extensive experience in water treatment plant operations, including leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven expertise in managing budgets, human resources, and stakeholder relations.
Familiarity with operational monitoring systems and laboratory procedures.
