Job Summary
The Global Communications Events Intern will assist in the planning, coordinating, and executing internal and external corporate events to support Werfen's goals. This role provides hands-on experience in event logistics, stakeholder engagement, and promotional strategies while working closely with the Global Communications team. The intern will help ensure events align with the company’s brand, purpose, and messaging.
Key Accountabilities
- Event Support: Assist in the planning and executing corporate events such as conferences, town halls, and employee engagement activities.
- Logistics Coordination: Help manage event details, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual setups, transportation, and scheduling.
- Communication Materials: Draft and edit event-related content such as invitations, agendas, press releases, social media posts, and follow-up communications.
- Vendor Liaison: Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and external partners to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
- Research & Planning: Research event trends, venues, and audience preferences to support creative and effective event concepts.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain event budgets, track expenses, organize databases, and update event timelines or checklists.
- On-Site Assistance: Provide support during events, including setup, registration, attendee assistance, and teardown.
- Post-Event Follow-Up: Assist with gathering feedback, compiling event reports, and analyzing outcomes to measure success and improve future events.
Networking/Key relationships
Work with different stakeholders, across the organization to define and maintain strategic communication plans.
Qualifications:
- Education: Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva) or event management software is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Experience: Prior experience in event planning, customer service, or communications is preferred but not required.
- Availability: Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends depending on event schedules.
