UX/UI Designer

About The Team And Product

This position reports directly to the domain UX Team Leader and is part of the Digital Products organization. Team members are based in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Our UX squads support multiple product branches—including primary education, secondary education, and core products. You will work with multidisciplinary, agile SCRUM teams responsible for developing one of our products. Additionally, you will collaborate with product and user research teams to understand the business, technical, and user requirements.

At this time, we’re seeking support for Clickedu, one of the leading School Management System providers in the Spanish market.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work together with the user research team to understand our users and validate your designs.
  • Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to identify problems, explore challenges, and stimulate co-creation.
  • Define user flows and wireframes based on business requirements and user needs.
  • Develop and maintain the product’s information architecture in collaboration with the product team (analysts and/or architects).
  • Design and prototype high-fidelity user interfaces in line with responsive web design (RWD) principles.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of Sanoma Learning Design System components and guidelines.
  • Guarantee that digital accessibility (ADA and WCAG standards), digital equity, and access guidelines are met.
  • Communicate designs—both verbally and visually—to stakeholders and team members, and proactively address feedback.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure your designs are implemented accurately.
  • Collaborate with another designer to ensure alignment on design vision and execution.
  • Document your designs thoroughly and contribute to the Sanoma Learning Design System.
  • Share your knowledge and educate colleagues about UX design across the organization and within your team.

Job Requirements

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proactive and autonomous individual (we don’t micro-manage)
  • Experience working in Figma
  • Good understanding of various UX tools and methods
  • Strong UI skills
  • Experience with design systems or component libraries
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
  • Residing in Spain, ideally in or around Barcelona

Nice to Have

  • Experience in user research activities
  • Pedagogical understanding
  • Knowledge of designing accessible and inclusive digital products
