Context And Mission

The Language Technologies Unit at BSC is currently engaged in the training of foundational multilingual Large Language Models. As we begin the instruction and alignment phase, we are seeking annotators, evaluators, and translators to join a dynamic team of enthusiasts dedicated to advancing cutting-edge AI systems.

We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented professionals to analyze, annotate and create data in English, Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Basque. Your work will be critical in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the multilingual datasets that power our AI models.

The ideal candidate is fluent in at least three languages, has exceptional attention to detail, and is passionate about working at the intersection of language and technology.

Key Duties

• Evaluation, annotation and content creation tasks aimed at improving AI models ensuring accuracy, relevance, and linguistic quality.
• Translate, localize and proofread a variety of content, from English to Spanish and Catalan and/or Galician, and/or Basque.
• Post-edit raw Machine Translation output.
  
  

Requirements

• Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Language Studies, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
• Or higher vocational education (FPII)
• Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
• Proven experience in translation, localization, Machine Translation post-editing, or similar roles, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Spanish and Catalan and/or Galician and/or Basque.
• Familiarity with AI content generation or with linguistic annotation tools is a plus.
• Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
• Proficiency in CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ).
• Competences
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and tools.
• Ability to collaborate with a team and/or work independently, maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  

Conditions

• The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department
• We offer a part-time contract (30h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance
• Duration: 31/12/2025
• Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
• Salary: 25.600,00 €

Development of the recruitment process

The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:

• Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
• Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
  
  

The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.

In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.

The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
