twentyAI is exclusively partnered with a well-funded fintech company is seeking a visionary Head of AI to lead a greenfield AI initiative focused on revolutionising marketplace personalization. Backed by a major retail group, this company is redefining credit and shopping experiences through AI-driven personalization and financing solutions. This is a unique opportunity to establish and scale an AI function from the ground up.

The Role

This newly created position reports directly to the CEO and is instrumental in building an AI-powered recommendation engine to deliver a fully personalized marketplace experience.

The Head of AI will build a dedicated team of 3-4 data scientists, working closely with data engineers, product teams, and leadership to develop and deploy cutting-edge AI models at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a personalized AI recommendation engine that seamlessly integrates into existing products, enhancing user engagement and retention.
• Utilize behavioural data from millions of customers to drive highly tailored shopping experiences.
• Lead the creation of AI-driven user preference models and recommendation systems.
• Collaborate with data engineers and external partners to establish a robust AI infrastructure, including data ontology and semantic layers.
• Hire and scale a high-performing AI team, focusing on best-in-class talent.
• Define and execute the AI strategy and roadmap, aligning initiatives with broader business goals.
• Work directly with senior stakeholders, ensuring AI remains a core strategic focus.
• Develop predictive models for personalized marketing and user engagement.

What You’ll Need

• Strong background in data science and AI, with expertise in recommendation systems, predictive modelling, and personalization.
• Proven ability to build and lead an AI function from scratch, including hiring and mentoring top-tier data scientists.
• Experience with large-scale behavioural data analysis, particularly in consumer-facing applications.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning, GenAI, and AI-driven personalization.
• Ability to translate business goals into AI-powered solutions, collaborating with engineering, product, and leadership teams.
• A strategic mindset with a passion for iterating towards a scalable AI-powered marketplace.
