Purpose of the Role:
Regulatory reporting in Europe remains a significant challenge for payment institutions as regulators scrutiny continues increasing. This role is a unique opportunity to learn about the complex European Regulatory landscape and challenges across European markets for payment institutions, learn about our business model across Europe and learn to manage risks in a changing environment.
This is a new position to bolster the recently created Legal Entity (LE) Regulatory Reporting team, which has the responsibility to oversee the successful delivery of all regulatory reporting obligations in scope. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to create actionable insights, perform data analytics and analysis, and support data extraction for ad-hoc or recurring requests from regulatory reporting managers across Legal Entities. The role may also involve contributing to automation and data visualization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills (SQL, Python, Excel, Data visualization) and a solid understanding of data manipulation to analyze and interpret data effectively. Critical thinking, problem solving, communication and business acumen to translate insights into actionable insights are essential for the success in the role.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with different data teams involved in Regulatory Reporting to understand requirements, become familiar with the systems, and identify the system of records where the data resides.
- Effectively supply data to LE Regulatory Reporting team members in a timely fashion to support the development and roll out regulatory reporting, insights, and analytics across legal entities.
- Perform data treatments, validation controls, and ad hoc analytics when required.
- Support the enhancement of process efficiency across the Regulatory Reporting team. Automate regular data extraction for controls and establish new processes with efficiency.
- Support the creation and maintenance of documentation for all data extraction, queries, and logic used, as well as for any process optimization implemented.
- Employ problem-solving skills to address unexpected tasks and minimize disruption to project schedules.
- Continuously shows curiosity and critical thinking to propose new and better solutions to enhance the department’s efficiency, improve reporting processes, methodologies, and document regulatory reporting requirements.
- Technical skills: SQL programming (Intermediate - Expert level); Tableau /Power BI (Intermediate), Google Cloud, Hive, Visualization and Coding experience (particularly python and vba, would be highly recommended).
- Highly proficient user of Excel and Power-point, Access.
- Strong analytical skills and rigor. Prior experience developing, executing, and managing reporting processes and insights. Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to identify and implement technical solutions to achieve process automation and reports.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, with experience to develop robust presentations.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently to problem solve.
- Business degree or equivalent. Masters preferred.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change.
