Senior Engineering Manager – (Barcelona - Hybrid)

Socium are delighted to be working with a market-disrupting Travel-Tech company in Barcelona to hire a Senior Engineering Manager as they scale their engineering capabilities. This business is a leader in the Travel industry who’s innovative consumer-centric products are revolutionising the traveller experience.

The ideal candidate will be a people-centric leader, leading with humanity, ideally with a SaaS and product-focused mindset to be a hands-on Engineering Manager. Taking full ownership and responsibility over their highly ambitious technical roadmap as they scale their award-winning suite of Travel-Tech solutions.

Being the Engineering Manager at this scaling brand will give you full autonomy over how they transition in-to a modern, product-focused engineering environment. Being the pivotal link between product and engineering; ensuring every step, the end-user and it’s products functionality is at the forefront of every decision.

Required Skills for this Role:

· Technical proficiencies will require previous experience working with Java (JVM) ideally in a cloud-native environment (their Infrastructure is AWS), a recent hands-on understanding is necessary to pair-programme, mentor, support and lead the engineering teams by example

· Previous experience of leading an engineering team of 6+ engineers, promoting a culture of high-performance, cultivating a “product” mindset to solve complex, nuanced business problems and translating in-to tangible software solutions

· Break down the barriers of linking the core business & your engineering teams, fostering an environment of collaboration always with a “growth” mindset to pro-actively capture new business requirements for emerging markets, or existing clients to be the go-to solution in the travel-tech space

There is significant scope in this role for a proactive engineering leader to actively shape the trajectory of this position; if you are a passionate, commercially minded people-leader comfortable with ambiguity, then this may well be for you!

Remuneration & Remote Working:

They have a “remote friendly” policy – with a swanky new office in the centre of Barcelona – the team are currently going in around x2 days per week!
