Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and development at Service Club. The CTO will play a crucial role in scaling our technology infrastructure, driving AI modeling projects, and ensuring the success of our big data initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage and inspire a large, distributed team of over 50 engineers and developers, organized into agile squads. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.js backend development, MongoDB, and experience with marketplace platforms.
Key responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership: Define and implement the technical vision and strategy for Service Club, aligning with business objectives to drive growth and innovation.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a diverse team of over 50 engineers and developers, organized into squads. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
- AI & Big Data Projects: Oversee the development and deployment of AI models and big data projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Strategic Development: Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to guide the architecture and design of scalable, high-performance systems that support our marketplace.
- Accelerate Delivery: Implement strategies to accelerate product development cycles and ensure timely delivery of features and improvements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other executives, product managers, and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, particularly in AI, big data, and marketplace platforms, and evaluate their potential impact on Service Club's technology stack.
- Scalability: Ensure that all technical solutions are scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance as the company grows.
- Security & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of security, data privacy, and compliance in all technological solutions.
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Extensive experience with Node.js backend development and MongoDB.
- Proven track record in leading AI modeling projects from concept to deployment.
- Deep understanding of big data technologies and their application in real-time data processing and analytics.
Leadership experience:
- Demonstrated success in managing and scaling a large, distributed engineering team of 50+ people, preferably organized into squads.
- Strong ability to inspire and lead teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Strategic mindset:
- Experience in applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) strategically in technology projects.
- Proven ability to align technical strategy with business goals and drive the company towards accelerated growth.
Industry experience:
- Prior experience working on marketplace platforms or similar complex, scalable systems.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities in the service industry is a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Accelerate metrics and practices to improve software delivery performance.
- Proven experience with big data projects, particularly in a marketplace or similar context.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance.
